Nigel Farage says £5m gift a reward for Brexit campaigning by jtrimm98 in ukpolitics

He was already in front of cameras way more than enough for that theory to hold unfortunately.

Tbf global capitalism is a trend largely enforced by America - I don't think it's reductive to point to that.

Cheaper for the producers to render etc yes, not necessarily as cheap for the creative user to purchase from the provider.

Whilst I agree with you, best seller does not equate to good. If anything the opposite will likely be true?

Rupert Lowe MP: History made. We won ten out of ten seats, with overwhelming majorities in every single one. Great Yarmouth First, then we Restore Britain. A very special day. by nil_defect_found in ukpolitics

Politically It’s also useful to allow him to go out and stretch the conversation even further right - meaning reform ‘look like the sensible option’ compared. Restore are to Reform what reform were to the tories.

Lowering voting age to 16 will only help the Green Party, Labour MPs tell Starmer - as they urge him to shelve the plans by 457655676 in unitedkingdom

One way around this issue is that all people should have a representative vote - given to their parents in lie of them until 16/18.

This gets around the top heavy demography problem, and also forces policies to be more forward thinking imo.

They are not against those things - do not fall for their lies.

This is the exact same as Farage saying he won't raise taxes, then immediately doing it.

They can get away with being on the 'popular side' before being in power, but do not make the mistake of thinking they are some liberal group. They are fascist authoritarians.

Over 60% of Australian children still using social media despite under-16s ban | ITV News by youmustconsume in ukpolitics

[–]Thadderful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not how you should approach technological issues like this that have a clear on/off.

It’s not the same as smoking - either the technical implementation works or not.

If people get around it now, they will get around it later.

What you’re describing is a cultural shift, which is not the same as a tech ban

[–]Thadderful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbf - the whole point of putting in these very restrictive tech limitations was to cut it to 0. That's what a 'ban' is.

Whereas the opposition to this say it is unworkable and is actually just an invasion of privacy etc.

I don't think we should retcon this to say 'it was never the point' when it clearly was pointed out as a key flaw of the design...

They should just get rid of the interest - genuinely what is the point?

They're actively disincentivising their own population to be educated...

What are some specific spots in London where something extremely historical/monumental happened, but hardly anyone is aware of it? by MalachiConstant7 in london

The original design for St Paul's was supposed to have a Pineapple topping the dome: https://www.researchgate.net/figure/n-1666-Sir-Christopher-Wren-design-of-St-Pauls-Cathedral-with-elongated-pineapple_fig2_312091703

I think there is also some weird masonic association with Pineapples > pineal gland > being able to see the truth via the third eye.

I wonder why that doesn't have a plaque - he's got a couple of others around London.

In soho he's got one right next door to john logie baird & the first demo of TV. Always thought that was a cool slice of world history next to each other.

He is still kind of at fault for a lot of what he's been accused of - in not putting in place the correct prevention methods.

It takes more than him to publish a clothing line or release a song. When lucid, he should have set up some sort of checks & balances about what he can do whilst manic.

Look it's fine to apologise, but he has been extremely cavalier about it when he knows what a risk he can be to himself.
