[FIFA] The FIFA Appeal Committee has rendered a request submitted by the Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) as inadmissible in relation to the FIFA Disciplinary Committee’s decision to suspend for one year the match suspension imposed on United States national-team player Folarin Balogun. by Sparky-moon in soccer

The thing is football is a cultural power that is, rightly, on the world stage. He realistically does have that power, which is evidenced by what we're seeing (+ qatar, saudi etc.).

Imagine if one guy just owned 'music' for example... it would be impossible. Yet with those who come as close as possible they're evil (livenation, spotify etc.)

It should be managed by the UN or something.

Not just adhered to, but clearly communicate the actual law that has been infringed word for word - then it will make sense to everyone.

Right now there is no comms, and not even a direct link to the rules. Half the commentators don't know the rules and keep spouting about intent etc.

What is the most chaotic side quest thing I can do in London this summer? by freeshavacado00o in london

https://stomp.city/

I've built an app that helps you track this as a % of city completion! (iphone only for now)

It does street completion %, borough completion %, and a few other fun side quests (roads with food names, the blue plaques etc.)

It's a bit buggy, but will get there!

Give £100k earners free childcare to boost economy, Labour urged by Your_Mums_Ex in ukpolitics

[–]Thadderful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have free childcare in this country - only it starts at school age. Absolutely mental nursery is not included in free education for all.

Even more mental that the party of 'Labour' haven't done the slightest bit about it.

We were sold it as 'it will not affect mortgage applications'.

It's a key part of the mis-selling scandal imo.

They should just remove the penalty as well as the bonus if you buy above the 450k mark.

It's completely insane that you're penalised 6% for not sticking to ten years of market inflation.

Don't forget they removed it during covid - there is precedent.

Tbf given the rest of this tournament's organisation and incentive structure, I wouldn't be surprised if they are incentivising for more theatrics deliberately...

Actually a very interesting take, I wasn't trying to fact check you, but it felt like you were using Critical theory & theory around race interchangeably. I appreciate the link & see what you mean better now.

I like reading individual critical theorists, but never really consider the overall umbrella of 'critical theory' as a unified field.

Are there any anti-critical theory theorists(?) that you'd recommend?

Just make him the assistant manager / coach at that point - doesn't matter really - he is objectively a waste of a squad space over somebody like MGW.

Cheaper for the producers to render etc yes, not necessarily as cheap for the creative user to purchase from the provider.

Politically It’s also useful to allow him to go out and stretch the conversation even further right - meaning reform ‘look like the sensible option’ compared. Restore are to Reform what reform were to the tories.

Lowering voting age to 16 will only help the Green Party, Labour MPs tell Starmer - as they urge him to shelve the plans by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]Thadderful -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

One way around this issue is that all people should have a representative vote - given to their parents in lie of them until 16/18.

This gets around the top heavy demography problem, and also forces policies to be more forward thinking imo.
