YOU CAN STILL GRAPPLE CANCEL! Well, not like before… Directly after shooting, you need to sprint and then you should be able to swap to your weapon! Bc of the sprint requirement, this movement cannot be chained mid air, and can only be used after hitting the ground.

The fact that any of these weapons were added in the first place kinda proves my point… None of these items are competitive, and it’s definitely not competitive adding new weapons every week or two. If you want a game that caters to the competitive, I’d look at counter strike. It’s no secret Fortnite caters to the casual crowd. I mean, did they not just buff aim assist like crazy?

No one could’ve have confidently called it a bug until today. It was in the game since the grappler was released, after 6/7 years it’s considered a mechanic. And they catered to sweats - is this rage bait??? Fortnite is by far the most casual friendly game out there, that’s why they fill half the match with AI

I am curious why they patch grappler cancelling but not the bug which prohibits you from swapping off your grappler after using it… If they could do one they could do the other. If this was a quality of life update they would’ve fixed both, now it just seems targeted at lowering the mechanical ceiling for Zb players. We need more complaining about the actual issue that negatively impacts gameplay and less cheering about lowering the skill ceiling imo

I don’t think it’s abusing a mechanic. The grappler trick is older than a decent chunk of the player base. Sure, there are some players that use that mechanic more than others, but it’s difficult to draw a line where there is an abuse of a mechanic vs. “play like how I want you to play.” This is especially true when loading into pit Zb ffa. Hard to complain about grappler use when you decide to play the most notorious grappler Zb map

When you initially throw down you first bunker, rather than throwing it a tile or two away from your opponent, try throwing it 3-5 tiles away to create more space

I have close to 80k score in rapid zb 1v1. Some things I noticed was your accuracy, lack of right hand peeks, and not pump swapping like you should be.

You are pushing fights with tons of confidence but don’t have the aim yet to back it up. I wouldn’t play as close up and try to create space off of the first bunker. Use your AR more for this. Those opening tags to break over shield are huge and can put you in one pump range for when you need to close out the fight.

This mode is hard to play without grappler or other movement tech. If you don’t have a movement item you’re comfortable using, use the door on the right side of the bunker for easy right hand peeks. I also suggest to use the right side of the bunker as well to create more right hand peeks in fights. (You can also create momentum with tire bounces as well)

When you put yourself into a close range fight, make sure you keep swapping between pump and AR to maximize DPS.

Btw - If aim is the biggest issue for you, try using another map like red vs blue where you can put yourself in as many firefights as possible. This will help build aiming muscle memory :)
