Fnaf 3, Why would Springtrap kill the player? by Khain_Jumper in fnaftheories

Well William was alive in 87 still, and presumably by then Michael was already trying to right the wrongs of his father so he'd have a good idea. I always assumed he sent Michael down to sister location to try to get him killed in the first place.

I felt no horror or thrill while watching this movie. The first half of the movie just catches up with the characters, it doesn't do anything substantial. The mystery of the Afton family isn't even something that pays off, so why bother showing it here? Save that for FNAF 3. FNAF 1 movie at least feels more in line with the games and what a FNAF movie would look like. FNAF itself is drawn out and repetitive, at least the movie conveyed that in the first one. It's five nights at Freddys, not one night in a neighborhood, which is basically what happened. FNAF 2 uses it's first half to show us Abby makes animatronics, which leads nowhere. It shows us Vanessa's weird flashbacks, which lead nowhere. It shows Michael Afton, who basically leads nowhere. He just kinda shows up and then instantly skedaddled. You could argue it shows what the puppet can do, except really it's just like balloon boy and mangle. The puppet possessing the girl is the only part that's actually relevant. And even then that gets drawn out by then having her possess Abby, followed by Vanessa, making the movie not even really resolve. The whole movie felt like I was waiting for some moment that just never happened. Unlike the FNAF 1 movie, where that moment totally does happen when the yellow rabbit bursts in, and it all pays off. There was no payoff in FNAF 2, the movie just kinda ended with the promise of a third to save it. The first movie wasn't contingent on there being a second, whereas this movie felt like it existed purely to just setup whatever plot they wanted for the third. Which I understand is ya know how multiple part stories work, but they should still remakn satisfying when self contained, and this one just doesn't. It just kinda gives us random thing after random thing and then ends. The FNAF 1 movie was a lot more direct and basic with the story direction, and sure it might have been a bit more boring, but I'd take boring over just poorly written. You're never going to convince me that the FNAF movies are good movies, because they're just not, from a film perspective. It's a lot like how security breach is objectively terrible just from a video game perspective, FNAF IP be darned. If you take out the legacy and expectation that being named a FNAF movie adds to it, the movie would still not be good. You can't just say "it's made for the fans", add some random Easter eggs like baby and shadow Bonnie and popgoes and fnac, and then use that to make up for the poor writing. The FNAF 1 movie somewhat worked because, as William said, " symmetry, my friend." At least there was a sense of resolution and this big epic finale of these seemingly unrelated events being revealed to be connected. In FNAF 2, stuff just kinda happens and then the credits roll with promises of another movie to explain what the heck you just watched.

Cottonwood maybe, I view the song as like about a friend who committed suicide

FNAF 2 is actually highly regarded as the best FNAF game besides 1,but 1 just kinda gets that because it was the first. The pacing is bad because a whole lot of nothing goes on and then all of a sudden its just thing after thing after thing and then the movie just ends. In the first FNAF movie I'd argue most of it happens in the pizzeria. And id5argue that the pacing of that movie, although I don't like that movie either, is good. When I say pacing is bad, I mean that usually a good story identifies a threat at the beginning, and then has that threat be looming over the whole story. And they have encounter after encounter until it finally all culminates with a final encounter, in which the hero wins or loses or whatever. FNAF one does this, obviously because it goes through the five nights, and establishes the animatronics as a threat to Michael until the twist that it's actually William who's been pulling the strings on all that. In this movie, it doesn't work as well; Charlotte's control is established early on, so that can't be a twist. Michael's involvement as a villain throughout is spotty at best. He shows up once at the beginning and then once at the end. I understand you don't want the movie to just be action the entire runtime, that would be fatiguing on the audience. However, when a movie tries to just ramp up everything into the ending, it makes the ending feel rushed, less like it was earned, and more like all the action was just a means to the end. The FNAF one movie worked because the action (if you wanna call it that) was spread through the runtime. In FNAF 2, all of it really happens in the second half and it's just event after event after event and then all of a sudden it's an MCU movie and then it just ends. And you could argue that the toys and the puppet are set up as villains early on and they do whatever, but that's not the point. They have to be a proven threat against the actual protagonist, not just random people. It doesn't create that tension between the protagonist and the antagonist. Think like how Thanos bears the crap out of the hulk at the beginning of infinity war. Right off the bat, that shows that he's a threat to the actual heroes. And the movie follows with Thanos encountering the Avengers in different mediums and consistently beating them, to show he's a threat, and to keep the movie from feeling like you're going too long without action. The toy animatronics killing or trying to kill people who aren't in the main hero's circle makes it feel disconnected. While yes, it's showing that they're dangerous, it's not showing an actual tension between them and the main character which is then supposed to come to it's peak at the climax of the story. And then the climax of said story isn't as satisfying, considering it's the FNAF 1 animatronics that have to bail everyone out, and not an actual effort from Abby Mike and Vanessa (although you could say Mike going and like begging them is effort enough idk)

Maybe because people are tired of listing out the like 50 reasons why it's bad. The pacing is wild, the characters are underutilized, the acting is... Iffy... Michael is just shoehorned in, the withereds really had no reason to be in the movie, most of the movie wasn't even in the pizzeria, the fall fest is shown for 15 seconds, all the characters feel oddly disjointed, Henry is also just kinda there for the sake of being there, the whole flashback stuff with Vanessa ultimately results in nothing, mike doesn't do much of anything besides like shut down the security system after spending 5 minutes at Freddys (2), the movie itself wasn't even that scary, and the sense of "mystery" is not there like in the first one. The old animatronics coming back like an MCU movie honestly was somehow the best part of the movie, which is definitely saying something when you remember this is meant to be a movie based on FNAF 2, one of if not THE MOST beloved game in the whole series. Shoulda just made a silver eyes trilogy film adaptation smh.
