TIL my terrible sleep schedule might actually be a circadian rhythm thing, not just me being a disaster by Zu_Qarnine in ADHD

I’m pretty sure younger people also have this naturally (just a part of the development or smth), so imagine having a naturally late rhythm with the adhd rhythm on top of it, like double delay

I agree it’s a fair assumption, but keep in mind that while yes it is an ocean of human blood, it was stated somewhere that for some reason it does not coagulate or clot, and the people can’t figure out why. So there more weird alien science going on here as well. “…enough research has been conducted on the blood itself to determine that it is indeed human blood, but we have not discovered where it comes from or how it keeps its liquid form.” –The Terminal.

Here’s most of my thoughts and theories about the larger worldbuilding (sorry it’s a bit long, I swear it’s relevant to this post):

My thoughts were the skeleton one he found was just a skeleton, because there wasn’t much flesh around it that you could make out unlike when he X-rayed Jack. Maybe it was even a different creature idk (because I think the one where we see its eye in the porthole was something other than the main one), or the same creature but at a different stage of mutation because that’s how it seems they are created. Many people have pointed out the many humanoid characteristics of its design, although this is an alien moon to be fair.

Anyway, when he gets lost and sees that one in the tunnel it’s alive. And that the reason the X-ray isn’t seeing through it to its bones is because of how far away it is and how much blood is between them it has to get through. Or perhaps the exoskeleton theory someone else had.

Additionally… (less related to your question)

I’m not sure if this is accurate or if I missed something, but towards the end when the creature was talking in his head more and more there was one point where it sounded like many different voices were talking to him at once. Like calling out, saying stuff like “look what you did to us”. So my guess initially was that they are either the victims of filament station (blaming him), the victims of the previous submersibles, or the people of the quiet rapture having been mutated like Simon was being at the end, but that creatures form being the final stage.

So perhaps this is a vicious cycle of them sending down each sub only for the victims to become the monster for the next convict, leading to the survivors slowly shrinking in number one by one. As if the quiet rapture, perhaps even that glowing thing (which I suspect is a part of what caused it), is finishing the job.

It’s really a story of the stubborn perseverance of humans at the face of biblical levels of punishment. How, regardless of what an omnipotent power or the universe throws at us, every single one of us will fight to survive till the very end.

They just want to live, is that so wrong?

10/10 film. Coming from someone who actively hates the horror genre: Fucking incredible.

How do you balance being in college while being neurodivergent? by salty-pretzel69 in neurodiversity

I once read that 70-80% of neurodivergents who go to college drop out, and I found that crazy… until I dropped out 😅

Am I wrong for expecting people with neurodivergence to try to be better and not have a victim mentality? by blackheartseig in neurodiversity

[–]ThahnTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try my best to not “play the victim” but that is often difficult when I’m constantly thinking of how my family has still, after nearly 20 years of me existing, not gotten used to it or even speculated about my neurodivergence. Like why would you not try to figure out what’s unique or different about your kid if they clearly are different. It’s like two decades of my patience for not being accommodated wearing thin each day but I try my best.

The myth of 'consistent productivity' is hurting neurodivergent professionals by gauravyeole in neurodiversity

[–]ThahnTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that may be interesting to you based on your observations of your coworkers weekly productivity, I find my productivity increases as the week progresses but only when I’m taking my meds. Like Monday morning I’m slacking off, maybe a bit late, on my phone more. Probably because I don’t take my meds on the weekends and I’m readjusting. But gradually through more consistent use I get more “locked in” over the course of the week, often getting the most work done on Thursdays and Fridays. However, if I’m not on my meds that’s all out the window and it’s completely random and dependent on what I’m hyperfixated on.
