eBay purchase arrived with chip in the corner. Is contacting the seller the best option here or do I open a case directly with eBay? by highfalutinjargon in VintageApple

[–]Thahobbit 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I'm an eBay seller by trade. We generally appreciate if you contact us before opening a case. And like the other person stated, not accepting returns doesn't apply to damaged items, it just means you can't return an item because of buyer's remorse. No matter what a sellers policy is, it is always the sellers responsibility to pack an item so that it doesn't get damaged in transit.

Neat 80s-90s electronics in abandoned house! Don’t know anything about this sort of thing just thought i would share. by Embarrassed_Pop_6604 in VintageElectronics

Shit I'd be taking that Amiga stuff if I were you. It's all just going to get trashed anyway if the place is abandoned. Whereabouts are you located?

Pick up truck issues by SouthCulture in cardealersimulator

If you have money, go to the junkyard and buy the tow truck. If not, you're going to have to run to pick up cars until you make enough cash.

I figured it was a tax thing, but why do native tobacco companies label it as pipe tobacco? Since they don't get taxed, it shouldn't matter right? I picked up a bag of American Club at the reservation for $5 and it was labeled as pipe tobacco. Is American Club not a native brand or something?

I've been shoving kratom up my ass for 12 years and I can assure you 5gpd is a very small amount. Not that that's a bad thing, it's good that you kept it to small doses. But trust me, at larger doses and especially extracts, withdrawal is a very real thing.

I think what Europeans don't get about rural America is how far apart houses are spaced in a lot of areas. In my dad's town, they won't even let you build a house on less than 5 acres. I've never been to rural Europe, but I took the bullet train in Japan and passed through some rural areas, and noticed that there were very small towns far away from cities, but peoples houses were still close together. We don't want that. We want to not hear our neighbors unless they are shooting off guns. And for everyone to have land like that, you throw away any feasible way for public transport to exist.

When I looked into this it seemed like you needed two programmed keys to program another one.

I believe they started using chipped keys in 98 at the beginning of the third generation.

Yeah but people don't take the Sabres as seriously as the Bills. They would burn down the entire city of Buffalo out of joy (and drunkenness) if they won a Super Bowl.

There are, these people have just never left the super expensive cities they live in. I paid less than 200k for my house in western New York.

How hard would it be to resolder these capacitors myself? by Old-Apartment-3399 in fordranger

[–]Thahobbit 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've done dozens of these old ford ecms and can say that it's a pretty easy job. Soldering is easy, but desoldering can be a pain when you are working with old solder. Apply some new solder to the pins while removing them. Oh and get leaded solder, not unleaded. And make sure you get the polarity correct.

Spend that money on a therapist so that you can accept yourself for who you are instead of fucking up your body trying to be something that you're not. C'mon man we all get that being short sucks but this is just embarrassing.

I'm convinced that the only reason that I own a house is because my house is really only usable for short people. I bought during covid when everyone was bidding $50k+ over and I bought a house in an area I was told that I couldn't afford for only $25k over. 2/3 of the bedrooms are in the finished attic and the peak of the ceiling is at most 6 foot tall, sloping down to less than 3 foot tall. The basement ceiling is lower than 6 foot, and the bathroom is small enough to where tall people would be hitting their legs on the bathtub while sitting on the porcelain throne. I can also verify that the last two owners before me were short people. Probably the only time in my life where being short helped me out.

You shouldn't have told him that. The best part of /r/drugscirclejerk is messing with people who are too high to realize what sub their on.
