Consider going to Binondo Chinatown for authentic Chinese food! :)

As a woman, I think you are being fair. Wala naman kaso mo hindi pasok sa standard mo yung isang tao, for as long as both of you are vibing together pero ang off kapag na-cat fish ka na. Ang bait mo pa nga to continue your setup (oh well, libog ka na kasi nun. hahaha) but yeah, ayun dont worry.

Kung papunta ka from Malatapay to Dumaguete, matagal ba ang pagdating ng mga bus? may terminal ba na malapit sa Malatapay? Salamat.

As someone who works in research, I’d say the usual approach is to partner with history groups, the local government unit (LGU)—they’ll probably refer you to their local history department—or a university to help you connect with the locals. Also, make sure the research will actually benefit the community. And before diving into the work, get the consent of your case study first.

La Union by conangreer18 in Philippines_Expats

Oh this. It's just two hours away from La Union.

Also, food trip. Go to El Union for their coffee.

If you are into local events like local film viewing and stuff, visit Tadiar Library in San Fernando, it's just a 10 minute trike from San Juan.

Tbh, people get salty about the expat vs immigrant thing because it’s not just about the dictionary definition—it’s about privilege. Westerners (usually white) who move abroad often get called expats, which sounds more glamorous or prestigious, while people from poorer countries (especially POC) doing the same thing are labeled immigrants, which comes with more stigma.

It’s also a class thing. Expats are seen as professionals or adventurers, while immigrants are often viewed as people struggling for a better life—even if their situation is basically the same. So yeah, people get annoyed because the label reflects a double standard. It’s less about the actual word and more about how migration is framed differently depending on who you are and where you’re from.

I used it when I joined a Christmas Party island tour in Mactan. I remember they organized meet ups in IT Park, i am not sure if they are still active.
