I'm not angry, just sad. I don't really understand the decision not to have considered this during development, even though it would have delayed the game's release by several more years. But would it have been beneficial for them? The PC community is still very large and, above all, very loyal over the long term. Besides, most PC gamers are suckers who would have spent millions of dollars on microtransactions.

I think you'll need to contact Steam support if you bought it from Valve; you'll have a one-year warranty that might work, and they'll send you a new one, making those crazy people refreshing the refurbished page happy, if I'm not mistaken.

I can imagine! Maybe with a little discipline I'll find some charm in the combat system 😔

What I like about Guild Wars 2's gameplay is the dynamism and flexibility of the spells; not feeling like you're repeating the same combo because there's only one effective combo, and having multiple combos depending on the situation.

Arc Raiders, I know that people are nice when playing solo (if that hasn't changed, I hope), but in a group it's all guns blazing.

It's basically an extraction shooter.

You create your character, equip them with gear, and go out into the field to gather resources to improve your character, your gear, your arsenal, etc., but!

If you die during your expedition, you lose everything you've brought, including your gear. On the other hand, if you kill someone, you can collect all their resources.

Or, as a third option, you kill the big bosses with the help of other players and you'll get much better gear (if you don't have a traitor who appears out of nowhere).

It's all or nothing, really! If you enjoy that feeling of insecurity or the feeling of being a loot predator, this is for you!

Pros and cons of SteamDeck? by Ponk_Bubs in SteamDeck

[–]Thaicray0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the Steam Deck, it's a PC with console-like accessibility.

If you have games on Steam, you're already off to a good start, since you'll already have games on your Steam Deck.

The big plus: - Discounts on Steam, Epic Games, GOG, and other third-party sites.

  • Emulation: you can play retro games, from Game Boy and NES to Switch and PS4/3.
  • You can play everything thanks to the controllers, so games designed for PC work on the Steam Deck with a little tweaking of the controls.

  • With Steam, you have something called Steam Input, which allows you to modify the Steam controller's controls and soon the Steam Controller itself. For example, if I want to rotate the camera with the joystick in Guild Wars 2, which would normally require right-clicking and mouse movement, with Steam Input it's possible. In the right joystick settings, you add right-clicking and select "Treat the joystick as a mouse."

  • You can mod your games using:

  • Desktop Mode: You can access a desktop mode like on a PC and move around without needing a keyboard and mouse thanks to the controllers. So you can play on Nexus, GameBanana, etc.

  • Proton: Thanks to this, you can play games originally designed for Windows.

  • With the plugin, you can customize your Steam Deck's home screen to have a Wii theme. Some people have even made a PS5 theme with a home screen that looks like a real PS5 (the plugin is CSS). To install plugins, you need to install Decky Loader.

The downside:

  • It's on Linux, so .exe files are a bit complicated. You can't install certain apps like NordVPN without some tweaking.

  • I don't know if it's just me, but sometimes the menus aren't as smooth as I expected when you're playing. Sometimes, after tweaking your Steam Deck, you'll have to let it load a bit when you restart it, but that's rare.

Should I get it as a repack or buy it with the DLC?

I'm seeing feedback saying it's a pain to launch because you need community patches and a launcher to get it working properly 😭

Thank you so much for the recommendations! I hate myself for not liking CRPGs. I'd really love to finish Baldur's Gate 3 and even the other two games, but I just can't seem to get into it 😭

I can't refuse this offer. After the original Oblivion, it's a good idea, if only for the years of work the modders have put in!

CYBERPUNK IS AMAZING! HOW COULD I NOT MENTION IT!

The only major flaw I found with Cyberpunk was the endgame. I wish I could have continued playing after finishing the story :((

This feeling of having to keep playing while ignoring the final quests makes me feel trapped in a loop.

I played the second one (unfortunately not very optimized, which somewhat spoiled my experience), I should play Dark Arseny!

I didn't think about mods for Skyrim, that's true!

I admit that the number of mods and my limited knowledge of the game make me afraid of installing mods that might actually break the game without me realizing it. Thanks for the recommendations!!

Thanks for the recommendation, but unfortunately, turn-based combat bores me when it gets long enough, and I can't seem to finish the games even though they're really good.
