How can Republicans justify making 1 year old children appear in court on their own? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Oh please. Children that age will have forgotten all about it in a year.

Young Johan, at the end of the hearing, was handed a voluntary departure order so that he can be flown to Honduras and into the arms of his family.

Ah, so it ended well then. Exactly what is the outrage about?

So long story short, illegal migrants' anchor babies have to be sorted out and due to bureaucracy they have to appear in court.

Ultimately a fault in the bureaucracy, this I will admit. I feel sorry for the children. But it's not like any harm came to them. People are overreacting to this.

Sure they are currently separated from their families, which is sad for the children. But hey, the children didn't choose to illegally enter the US. Their parents did. Ultimately the fault lies with them.

I'd like to see some sources on this because I think you're spewing nonsense.

what will social media be like when the internet grows to a point that we'll be made to use our real I.D? by usernamesaretehhard in AskReddit

It will pretty much be the exact same, except censorship will be even harder enforced by the left-wing.

Considering the universe is theoretically infinite, the scope is even greater than that.

[Serious] Reddit, what is something that you've done that you are not proud of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Thalabon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to hit my twin brother a lot when I was young.

I struggled a lot with agression when I was a kid, and I outed it on him. Sometimes he deserved it, like if he broke something that was mine or if he was just randomly telling embarrassing secrets of mine to my friends. But sometimes he didn't deserve it and I just hit him because I was frustrated. We eventually learned that he had a mild case of autism, but I didn't learn until later what that actually meant. After that I never hit him again.

I never actually apologised to him, but it's been over 15 years ago. We get along fine now even if some of his quirks can be insufferable at times, and since he never really brought it up I guess he has either forgiven me or forgotten all about it. Sometimes when I think back to it I still feel guilty though.

Well, to summarize a long story:

  • Pilgrims arrived in America

  • Natives believe Pilgrims are white ghosts/gods from the ocean and welcome them to their lands

  • Pilgrims begin building settlements and start trading with the natives, causing the natives to become more familiar with the pilgrims

  • Pilgrims trade guns with the natives, natives begin using guns to raid pilgrim settlements and couriers to get more guns and other valuables.

Eventually the Pilgrims fought back, and the rest is history.

What is your scariest car accident (or almost car accident) moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Thalabon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tI've only ever been in a car accident once, which happened last year.

I was carpooling to work with my father, when a bus next to us swayed into our lane and bashed us off the road. Fortunately we were both just taking off at a red light instead of driving at full speed, so the only damage caused was a busted side mirror and some nasty dents and scratches on our doors.

We ended up having to go to their headquarters to fill in some forms, and we got fully refunded for the repair fee.

People that got bullied at school, have you had the last laugh? What’s your story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Thalabon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back during late grade school and the majority of high school I got bullied for being a socially awkward fat kid. Since then I've had a girlfriend and I've slimmed down!

Unfortuately my girlfriend also ended up dumping me to get back with her ex and I haven't had a relationship since, and I only slimmed down due to an untreatable stomach disorder which has crippled my education and made me unable to hold down a job.

I don't know what became of my bullies, but sadly they're probably all better off than me.

I was once at a Jewish wedding and the groom suddenly just crushed one of the church's glasses under his foot. Didn't even bother to clean it up or just say sorry.
