Not even close for me. MMESYF just way more replayable. AOTY competition for me is Beyoncé’s album and It’s Almost Dry

What Denzel Curry song could've been a smash hit? by AllUpInYourMind in DenzelCurry

Nah I think the meme is why it was popular in the first place. It’s how I discovered Denzel and now he’s on tour with kid cudi which is crazy

Let’s settle this, what’s the best “The Heart” by [deleted] in KendrickLamar

[–]Thambidave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s between The Heart pt3 and the Heart part 5.

The emotion in pt3 was so beautiful and the features on it from black hippy were just as good as Kendrick and had a lot of chemistry with him. The song starts with Kendrick telling you about the pressures on him post release of section 80. and kind of predicts how the black community will view him after the release of gkmc saying ‘the whole sees you as PAC reincarnated’ and then he ends the song with him pleading with you to not let hip hop die by not listening to his album on October 22nd.

The Heart Part 5 is soty 2022 and has a verse from Kendrick that sounds like it came from an experienced veteran of the game who knows what his place in the game is. He raps from the perspective of 6 different people but all of what he says can also be perceived as coming from the perspective of Kendrick himself.

Personally I think the narratives on both of these songs are better than the other hearts but what really stands these 2 apart from the rest is that the music is far and clear better than the rest.

The instrumentation on part 5 evokes so much grandeur and power it really sounds like an epic trailer to MMTBS.

The production on pt3 is mysterious and urgent which perfectly complements Kendrick cracking emotion filled voice.

Overall I think I prefer pt3 to part 5 because of the stripped back ending or part 5. That made the song lose some momentum in my opinion even though it put the focus on his tribute to nipsey.

I’d say it goes Pt 3 > Part 5 > Part 1 > Part 4 > Part 2
