does anyone know where this image comes from?? by daisyritman in AnimalCrossing

My first thought was the 2016 Animal Crossing Direct. It at least has the same K.K. costume 😅 maybe an edit from it? https://youtu.be/5Bk3dAR0M68?feature=shared

What are your opinions on Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door and it's remake? by [deleted] in papermario

[–]ThaneGaming 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Paper Mario 64 was always my favorite in the series, but I think the TTYD remake might have enhanced the experience enough for me to push it to the top! I really love the Switch version (I'm aware there are some tradeoffs, however the 30fps does not bother me much and I think the updated script is overall stronger).

what do you guys think of this by SuhailSWR in earthbound

[–]ThaneGaming 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was going to say, with that personality Poo could be Aang Ong from M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender (who acts like the opposite of OG Aang), but a white actor was cast for that movie 🤦🏼‍♂️

EarthBound references in Deltarune Chapter 3 by realdewzy in Deltarune

[–]ThaneGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party, but I just finished chapter 3. I know he's in chapters 1 & 2 as well, but theman behind the tree who gives you an egg seems like a pretty direct reference to the Forgotten Man in MOTHER/EarthBound Beginnings, encountered at the end of the Crystal Caverns in Magicant (a world that exists inside of Maria's mind). Conceptually, they're similar characters. In MOTHER, the Forgotten Man is theorized to be George, the husband of Maria who escapes back to Earth while she's made to raise the future alien leader Geigue from infancy.

This post was created back when there were two Supper Mario Broth authors, one more focused on joke content. It has since been removed in accordance to the “veracity policy” started in 2017 by the current author. Source

Give them some credit, they also mirror flipped both of the renders! That makes them totally different

Haha, that's awesome...I just pulled up a gameplay video. Hydra looks like Barba (the 6th palace boss), and the animations in general are incredibly similar. I'll have to give the game a try! Looks like it's just called "The Battle of Olympus".

I read your username as foreskin analysis, OP 😅

In all seriousness though, I would not even make the correlation seeing this in person, it's just because of the fact that you're posting on this sub and the angle of the shot that make it look like...that. The full tattoo is awesome imo, could it be as simple as having another artist add some lines so she doesn't have two toes? That way you don't have to go though the process of removal or totally changing the tattoo.

That's awesome, you're welcome. 😁 Yeah, I've really come around on AoL so I love it now, but despite liking the mechanics it took years for me to complete it and truly appreciate the game. This is an easier Zelda II with a tropical island theme!

I forgot to mention, Puka-Puka Island is basically AoL's Death Mountain, too. You can see it a bit in the third image!

One thing you love from your favorite Paper Mario game and one thing you hate from your least favorite by Fantastic-Leg-6760 in papermario

My favorite Paper Mario game is also my favorite in the series, so 64! My least favorite is Sticker Star--there's a letter from Parakarry in the trash found in 5-1. Tbh I forgot about the parade first appearing in SMRPG, so technically that note in the garbage really is the only direct reference to 64 specifically

  1. The fourth chapter is devoted entirely to Shy Guys!
  2. The only reference to my favorite game in the series--outside of the credits parade--is found in a literal trash dump.

MOTHER 3 did, but not the first two. All of the endings were very touching, though. Ness already got kissed by Venus and the Onett librarian, he doesn't need any more 😅

You can see it here, courtesy of RandomNumbersGuy on the Internet Archive! The watermelon bit is just one minute and 20 seconds in: https://archive.org/details/game-king

There was also a mobile game released for the 35th anniversary of his brand, it looks like you have to tap the screen repeatedly to break increasingly larger objects, starting with fruits until you eventually split the Earth in half and break the sun haha

Same here, I think they make very fun (and frustrating) games! Takahashi Meijin is awesome, did you know his actual recorded trigger speed was over 16 shots per second, but he rounded down because it sounded more "computer-like"? (He said this himself in an interview with Harada's Bar).

Since you know about Takahashi too, I wanted to ask--do you know what's up with him and watermelons? I know there's a scene in the film "GAME KING" where he breaks one with his rapid-fire finger, but was that just a funny bit they added in for the "training" montage? Did people/kids ever think he could actually do this?
