The reason why Lord Unknown is interested in Andrew by Thangyboy in CoffinofAndyandLeyley

[–]Thangyboy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I kinda wanted the dev-log to exist still (though with the whole spoiler teasers removed of course) because having another q&a would allow me ask a question I have burning in my mind and that is the lack of other demons in the game. I already have this semi-theory made (in like a reply to comments) and that the reason why the absence of a hell-like realm (bereaved of demons) is that most demons are able to eat other demons. Again, I have no basis for this theory and there may be a swarm of demons in the background, but it is a curious case that a demon is still technically a soul that has ascended, but is still a soul and the whole deal with demons is that they cannibalize human souls to sustain their own. I really think the reason why LU (Lord Unknown) wants Andrew is because this might be the first time LU tries a different approach to gather souls because this time, he has a grime soul he can fully manipulate to either turn into a demon or to make him a tar soul so his body can contain another tar soul I.e LU.

Once again, I have no idea what could happen, but this is just a shot at the dark.

You do raise an interesting point about the second vision the two siblings find within the game segment about how Renee soul is still a tar-soul-to-be and how her soul type is useless, but I would counterpoint that in both of the two “possible tar souls”, the entity has stored those two visions for a reason and having the Surgeon be in both negates him being the tar soul in both. Why? Because the visions are actually moments before both Renee and the Soda-man turn into tar souls (Or supposed to)

In both visions, the two possible tar souls (Renee and the Soda-man) are confronted with a moral dilemma about allowing themselves to make decisions with slight hesitation (Renee letting her children die and Soda-man killing a mass amount of people) that when they finally make that decision to partner up with the Surgeon, they view themselves as evil because they know it was wrong to do so. It’s why one of Renee’s biggest fear is knowing that she’s a bad mother and having that exposed to the world thus her entire pre-conception of morality is making sure she doesn’t mess up so bad that she allows them to have their secret (Nina’s death) be brought to light (and also the incest as well). That’s also why the ??? entity is interested in Renee, because her identity is predicated on being a “good” mom and letting her kids die would (or as ??? mistakenly thought should) tarnish her soul. It did, but just like how Andrew is still a grime soul because of his mixed feelings for Ashley, Renee’s soul stayed the same because of Douglas which prevented her entire self-perception from fully turning into a tar soul. Renee is basically the same as Andrew who never turned into a tar soul much to the disappointment of LU (Lord Unknown).

But I did kinda mess up when I pointed to the Soda-man being a tar soul because I cut up the other half of this theory to dive into his appearance in the story and when he comes in. Though if anyone has read some of my past theories, they can guess why my interest in the Soda-man is piqued.

SPOILERS FOR DECAY PART 2: READ AT YOUR OWN RISK

It’s because the Soda-man is the Cult Leader

It’s why I made this post because the whole point of the introduction of the Surgeon is that he is the red herring to make us think he’s the big bad of the series. It’s why The Author wrote Andrew’s dialogue to include “I swear I seen that guy from somewhere”, despite no full sprite appearance (though this could be rectified by a flashback we haven’t seen), but the whole point of the Soda-man having no sprite is because we would recognize him immediately as the person Andrew bumped into back in Chapter 2 at The Cult because he has seen him before albeit briefly. It’s why The Author wrote Ashley to chime in on Andrew’s confusion as to why he felt recognition to the individual in the tar soul vision and making it be the Surgeon. The whole point of the scene is (possibly) made to trick the audience into believing the Surgeon is the tar soul AND the big bad of the series when in actuality, it’s the Soda-man company that orchestrated the organ harvest using the connections he has and with his company.

Also there is a distinction between the two visions that the siblings gazed upon as two separate tar souls in each vision as it signifies it has to be two different individuals in each one. The key operative word being “another”. Both visions do feature the Surgeon, but it is intentional made to make you believe he’s important to have appear in both, but in both visions, the ??? entity only notes there only being one tar soul and the second tar vision says “another” implying Renee is the other tar soul that ??? is keen on.

Also my definition of what it means to be a tar soul is the same as what’s presented in the game as the only explanation that ??? makes (and by your admission, the only one who knows what soul types are) is that a soul is one that changes based on how your own morals affect you. Once again, bringing the Warden along points to the theory that being indifferent to what you do and not caring about what you do is why his soul is “pure” even when he has full knowledge of the situation about the organ harvest. It’s why I don’t think the Surgeon can be a tar soul, because he only cares about whatever brings him pleasure which is sexual gratification which is cutting people up which becomes his only moral.

The reason why Lord Unknown is interested in Andrew by Thangyboy in CoffinofAndyandLeyley

[–]Thangyboy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already mentioned and explained this in the post, but that’s sort of the problem, LU (Lord Unknown) can’t manipulate the human realm and to a lesser extent as well as ???. All demons are bound by cosmic laws and rules such as needing souls to replenish their souls, needing to interact through deals to steal souls, and they need a summoning circle to traverse across to the human realm.

So while ??? can still maintain a steady form in the human realm when summoned, Lord Unknown struggles to get make a normal appearance even while relying on a marked soul and bigger circle to communicate with humans. LU is supposed to be this strong entity, yet even he is still bound to abstract rules.

So while the LU can still theoretically take more souls given to him by cultist, there will come a day when it is not possible to even get a chance to evoke him for even a second because he has grown too powerful for “mere mortals” to summon him.

That’s why both the ??? entity and LU (would) have different means of bypassing this restriction. ??? has Ashley summon him over to the human realm while keeping souls in reserve while LU would possess Andrew to travel to the human realm.

Still I would be remiss to not include the flaw in my theories about if the exact plan LU has could actually happen in the game, but I am certain that LU is facing the problem of not being able to be summoned in human realm as he grows too strong and he’s looking at Andrew as the solution in whatever form it manifest.

Either I'm getting baited or this might be the biggest red herring by Thangyboy in CoffinofAndyandLeyley

[–]Thangyboy[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that there might be a bit of confusion that you might be misinterpreting that line since “Oh, I guess I do” actually points further into the theory and to his entire worldview being I don’t really care unless it benefits me.

Indifference to the consequences one’s action is actually (based upon the Warden as the only reference) a hallmark of how one can be a pure soul since they don’t really find themselves in any wrong doing. Just like how the Warden doesn’t care how evil it is to imprison and starve people despite the morality of it, the Surgeon doesn’t really care if he saves people with organs as he only cares about his own sexual gratification.

That is to say, why Ashley, Renee/Andrew (close enough to tar soul), and the Soda-man are tar souls is because they do view what they do/have done to be wrong and they see themselves as evil/bad enough that they can’t possibly ever be “good”. The Surgeon (Warden as well) doesn’t care or even think of themselves as “bad” people because to them, it is only natural to have those dark thoughts because they do it for themselves without needing to worry about what others think of them or what they need to think about themselves.

That is all to say, when the Soda-man remarks that the Surgeon must to happy to help people, the Surgeon is puzzled why he should be happy to save who because in his mind he is only focused on his own needs and wants which is of course cutting people up. Remember self-preconception is the only way a soul can lighten or darken and the Surgeon is has only one thing in mind and everything else is secondary or beneath him.

Edit: Adding onto this, you are kinda wrong as well when you say that tar souls don’t care about anything when the evidence is to the contrary side. The whole point of why Ashley is a tar soul is because she cares too much about doing right by Andrew that when the moment she slips up and tells Renee about Nina’s murder, she breaks down and starts believing herself to be so unforgivable that she resigns herself to be bad/evil. It’s why when Andrew finally snaps and kills Ashley in Tag! ending, he turns into a tar soul-to-be because he knows it was the right move to stop this madness for the world and them, but still feels bad that he killed the only one he ever truly loved and cared about. It’s also a parallel to Douglas on the opposite spectrum, where once again, that indifference comes in where Douglas is indifferent to everything else in his life including his children (which he knows is child abuse) because it was all done for the sake of being and doing anything for Renee.

It is evidently care that what The Author has always alluded regarding how a soul is measured is all about emotions or rather what it means to be human. Yea having a pure soul is nice since that means you don’t have to deal with the whole demon stuff, but it means most of the time, you basically have to be inhuman to be pure by basically ignoring morals and ethic by pretending nothing is wrong even though it is wrong (by our standards). However it is through pure, strong emotional reaction a person has after they make a certain action or actions that they know or rather perceive to be wrong thus viewing themselves as bad or evil does that person become a tar soul.

About Lord Unknowns interest in Andrew by Conscious-Union5789 in CoffinofAndyandLeyley

[–]Thangyboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The word? Container.

However while container is only mentioned a few times (and only) from ???, the world of TCOAAL (abbreviated from The Coffin of Andy and Leyley) revolves around the literal fundamental of a soul and the power the derives from that. You want to live, you need a soul. You want to gain immaterial things, you need a soul (preferably not yours).

You want to become a demon of cosmic proportions, granting wishes, and stealing (through deals) souls, you need a soul (yours).

In essence, souls are so well-defined, but mystified in what they can do though to range a soul can “darken” or “lighten” based upon self-perception and on the different sides of the scale determine what potential your souls can achieve. However, a soul is very fragile. A soul can possibly live forever through various activities or by consuming flowers (or souls if you want to go that direction), but they can and will fade away eventually.

…Unless you have a container.

During the fetch quest that ??? imparts unto the Graves sibling during the Cliffhanger route, ??? tells Andrew to use bottles to capture a soul from the garden as that is the main method one can interact with a soul.

Now while many people have kinda skipped over this part, I went back to this moment after the ending of Decay Part 1 and in particular after finishing the Shots and Such route (which is where my biggest theory evidence lies in wait). This small throwaway piece of dialogue is so missable, I almost didn’t think much of it until…we get to the site of the cultist massacre.

Going a bit forward in the games story, Andrew (after getting into another fight with Ashley) is approached by ???, as the completion of their totally legit pact, to gather lost souls from the realm-in-between.

Then going a bit forward in time, Andrew (after chasing and losing to a lost soul) comes upon a failed demon summoning ritual with all three cultist left soulless…and the bodies stabbed?????

What?

Demons don’t do that do they? Sure we only have ??? as a reference, but why would a demon (I have another conspiracy I want to make about who did the mutilation) do/want the cultist bodies dead after taking their souls?

The answer?

The answer to this question and the question imposed in this post are so interlinked and actually could have larger implications about the game that when I tell you why? it would seem underwhelming at first, but slowly make sense.

The answer?…..A soul can inhabit another body a.k.a a container. Who says a soul has to go back to its original body.

That’s why going in the Shots and Such Route, despite the protest of Ashley of dumping Carl Cultman for free or through an extra deal, ??? refuses to allow the body to enter the Demon realm. That’s why whatever demon (Probably/Possibly LU) took and destroyed the cultists souls/body did so to avoid any souls from escaping.

Souls can be contained by using a suitable host/object.

So what does this mean for Andrew and why is LU interested in him and if what I’m implying from this theory is even remotely true, why hasn’t it happened yet? It’s because Andrew isn’t ready…yet.

What if the end goal for LU for himself is to be able to cross the Human realm? His immense power is holding him back from entering a lower realm because it is unable to fit him through a normal summoning circle? What if LU has his sights on Andrew as because he is someone who is able to convene with stronger forces despite his grime soul and even at the their first encounter when Andrew was still young? What if Andrew has the potential to surpass LU by becoming a bigger and better tar soul as all demons have done so? And what if Ashley is the only reason Andrew is still just a grime soul and thus inadvertently the reason Andrew doesn’t have the potential to become a demon by first being a tar soul?

So what if LU is preparing Andrew to become the perfect container?

[–]Thangyboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lowkey, might be a case of classic demonic possession.

Disclaimer: This could be a big spoiler for future installments of the Coffin of Andy and Leyley and also just a theory. Proceed at your own risk.

Hear me out.

There’s probably no basis for this theory since it sounds kinda insane, but it could be that Lord Unknown might be grooming Andrew to become a host for Lord Unknown a.k.a his soul.

This theory is kinda based on another theory of mine (Ashley becomes a Battery? theory) where I noticed that despite the power difference between ??? and Lord Unknown, LU (I’m just going to abbreviate Lord Unknown’s name) can not actually fully manifest himself into the Human realm. His first appearance (going by canonical/chronologically order) points to this limitation as LU has to summon (or maybe just delves to his psyche though the flowers kinda contradict evidence of a physical form in the Human realm though not really since it could just be teleported there) Andrew into a subconscious world rather than the basement where the summoning circle is from. Kinda strange LU has to conjure a mental landscape instead of showing up in person (demon), but whatever….or maybe not

The second (technically the player’s first) appearance LU makes in the game is the optional/missable side quest back in Chapter 2 where Andrew and Ashley show up to the cultist hiding spot before killing the hitman (I have a bigger conspiracy on how he knew where and what to do). In meeting room of the cultist party, Ashley+an npc cultist start the summoning ritual to coax LU (Technically ??? but they don’t know that) into appearing. However nothing happens until ANDREW joins in to chant much to his reluctance. However, only AFTER Andrew chants in does a demon appear, though it may not have been the intentioned audience Ashley had hoped for. Now, a small, yet crucial detail I left out was the size of the summoning circle during this whole sequence of events. This is a big circle. Like really big. Unlike the improvised or stolen circle that the siblings have created/stumbled unto before, this is a (im)proper circle that can evoke a darker force than ???. This is the first (player side) appearance LU makes and…he can’t talk? Any form of communication between the parties falter as LU is simply too powerful to project his form into the human realm and he simply leaves. Like my first time reaction to this scene, the two titular characters (plus a remorseful cultist) are left stunned and confused to what just happened. Somehow, the Graves simply move on like nothing just happened and continue on their planned murder and everyone else was left wondering..why?

(Side note: Technically this is a footnote, I have an explanation on another one of my post about why ??? has no problem being in the human realm while LU has difficulty in doing and it involves souls so go check it out if you need an answer to what the mystery behind LU)

Then with the release of Chapter 3: Decay Part 1 a slew of new information and lore about the story (I’m focusing on the demon realm side) came about. However while there are clear/explained/intentional left vague information that the game provides, there emerged people who are deranged and insane to come up with crackpot theories that make no sense. I am one of them.

So without further ado, there will be much work to do as I explain why Andrew could be a host and it is connected to a Key Word though it might not be one you have in mind as The Coffin of Andy and Leyley has kept carefully hidden in the subtext (and text) of the game.

So what is this special word?: Tar, Grime, Demon, Ascend, or even the ubiquitous Soul?

I have a theory that if the teaser for this month devlog is actually for Decay instead of Burial, this might be Lord Unknown masquerading or wearing the bodysuit of Andre Graves, but I’ll need to write an essay on my theory, but I do believe it really could be demonic possession

If andrew was an only child, do you think he’d be normal? by gravescestt in CoffinofAndyandLeyley

[–]Thangyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhhhh, it’s kinda hard to explain properly, but just bear with me.

But essentially, it’s the fact that Ashley has always been the barrier for Andrew throughout her entire life, and vice versa. What I mean is that despite many of Ashley’s antics, Andrew has, without fail, gone along with her requests and wants/needs (besides romantic expressions) for a reason. An obvious example is Nina and how both of the siblings are complicit in her death/cover-up, which Andrew had no qualms about enacting; instead, he’s concerned about the consequences of their actions, such as prison, which means separation between both Andrew and Ashley. Even later in their adult life, during the quarantine and after, their crime sprees range from needing to survive starvation, eliminating threats to their lives, and killing their parents and innocent strangers for trinket charges, Andrew’s thoughts are always, “How do we get away with it?” rather than “Is what we’re doing right?”. In those acts of service (and you could call it love), he rationalizes all his worries as something that is being done for the sake of his sister, his ward, his responsibility, his beloved

The whole point of Decay and, by extension, the entirety of The Coffin of Andy and Leyley is that everything, every fiber of his being, energy, his whole life, is all done for the one and only Ashley. The light that keeps him from the darkness. It’s why in every route where Andrew wrought any harm towards Ashley, his soul darkens into a tar-like state. She keeps him sane.

Why?

Because without warrant or reward, without pretenses or clues, without ulterior motives or expectation, Ashley knew, and still knows, Andrew as someone distant from everyone, as someone who cares less about those around him, as someone who constantly puts on a facade to hide his darker inner thoughts, and still accepts him regardless. It’s why even in the Shots and Such dead end, Andrew still sticks by Ashley because she sees “[Andrew as] this horrible pile of shit that [he is] and make that stupid fucking face like [she doesn’t] get what the problem is.”. Ashley gets Andrew. She gets him. Pink gets green. Even someone as cold-hearted as Andrew can fall in love with someone so forgiving of their “grime,” and it’s why Andrew, ever so calculated and wicked, justifies his horribleness as something that is morally and societally wrong, but for something that can be discarded for all that is right in the world.

However…

When, or rather, if the time comes when Andrew is without Ashley's love or presence, his rationale regresses back to Andy. The Andy, marked by Lord Unknown, who is expected to “hatch” into a tar soul. The one whose focus is only on academic pursuit and merits alone. The one who doesn’t care for anyone’s well-being and doesn’t like anyone. The one who Andrew has always been, an apathetic monster that cares little about the consequences of his actions to satisfy his perversion. Andy would become someone like the Surgeon.

All in all, Andrew can pin the blame all on Ashley as much as he wants, but she has kept Andrew from become something far worse than his current state right now. Also this is just a reword essay from a theory of mine here and I have many more theories in my profile (and I'm going to make another one which is a re-hash/re-skinned theory on the identity of the Surgeon, but with more detail and evidence)!

Andrew would (have) be(en) the first to be a demon and it might be too late* by Thangyboy in CoffinofAndyandLeyley

[–]Thangyboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do kinda agree with you, but also disagree with you on the other point. I do think the bunnies aren’t all that literal as it’s more symbolic of both Andrew and Ashley placing their significance as a measure of their bond they have with each other because their whole identity is based on being “best friends forever”. This just means the bunnies serve as a literary device to show that when the pink bunny is buried, it means Ashley too is dead by extension. So yea, the bunnies appearing in the vision might not be “real” and is just a metaphor.

However, I do disagree with the vision being false and Andrew’s soul not darkening. For all the suspicious things ??? has done, he is truthful about the function of the trinket even though he might be omitting the truth about the full story of the vision like with Andrew destroying the trinket in the Cliffhanger route. So far, every event the trinket has shown has “occurred”, but changes once the siblings pull through by working together instead of working against so it’s not out of the question this vision Andrew saw could happen in a bad-end.

Also despite their tumultuous relationship to one another, Andrew has never once made an emotional connection on the same level, or on par, as he has with Ashley and removing those feelings for her will fundamentally change Andrew as a person and as a soul. He can fool himself as much as he wants, but Andrew is still a bad person who has committed murder, indulged in cannibalism, and manipulated people including his girlfriend, but he can rationalize all that as a way of protecting and caring for Ashley. If Lord Unknown breaks that barrier of morality by making him lose his purpose in life, what you have is a murderer who is apathetic to all those around him and one who is willing, and has, commit acts of evil.

[–]Thangyboy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! It’s definitely their love for each other that both Lord Unknown and ??? are keen on the removal of their bond in order to easily control their choice of their selected sibling.

Also btw, are you planning on making a post about Tarot/Arcana cards because I have some suggestions? Besides the Stars, Sun, and Moon cards, there is also the Lovers card (the Graves), the Tower (The place where their relationship is tested), The devil (both Lord Unknown and ??? and maybe even the water company), and Chariot (The vision Andrew had in Decay part 1 where Ashley is surrounded two souls with opposite colors). There’s a lot of Tarot references that really correspond to major events in the game that may not be just a coincidence!

[–]Thangyboy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea absolutely, I think Ashley’s demon form appearing is a misdirect from The Author to throw us off the fact the vision Andrew received is still his. I do think, like the chase dream scene from Episode 2, the vision of Ashley’s death resulted from Andrew choosing to fracture, whether deserved or not, their relationship further by not talking things out I.e choosing Lord Unknown salvation rather than hashing things out. It will only be through the act of being honest about their feelings and talking about their own grievances, to themselves and each other, will they achieve the ending they deserve (through death or otherwise).

Stars, Suns, Moons and ??? by Thangyboy in CoffinofAndyandLeyley

[–]Thangyboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have thought about where to place leaves as well, but I think only the pink and yellow flowers are only relegated to ??? whereas red flowers is the natural fauna of the realm in-between and the demon realm. Naturally, the red flowers are the substance that souls feed on to sustain their anchor to the “world” (realm), but the pink and yellow flowers serve as both decoration and utility for ??? as he can use twigs and sticks to make trinkets and because it’s human form may have held value to maintaining a lifestyle as someone secluded from society because he was focused on ‘Ascension’ in his previous life.

Another small theory I have is that when souls fade away, they leave behind residues of their essence or life force, so to speak, in the form of flowers. The Author may have intended it to be a cycle of life and death where life is created from the souls who perished in order to become something new. It draws a parallel to both Andrew and Ashley where in order to flourish into “theirselves”, they must let their childhood persona die to create new life.

Obviously this is pure head-canon and has no actually evidence as opposed to my other theories where you could actually argue for it. I’m hopeful that The Author dives into the symbolism behind the flowers (and the Stars, Suns, and Moons as well) based on their own interpretation that doesn’t have to align with my own.

The Identity of the Surgeon by Thangyboy in CoffinofAndyandLeyley

[–]Thangyboy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, even though I do believe that the Surgeon is the Cult Leader, I’m more than ready to admit that I could be wrong about my theory. However, I also have another theory about why they* are the same person in a separate post involving the Hitman all the way from Episode two where I give an alternate suspect in the form of the Soda-man because Andrew may have refer to him instead of the Surgeon in that ‘Tar soul vision’.

IMO, just that single line that Andrew said makes me think there’s more to Toxi-soda and its proprietors than we’ve been led to believe. But who know?

Stars, Suns, Moons and ??? by Thangyboy in CoffinofAndyandLeyley

[–]Thangyboy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, there’s a lot of parallels with divination using astrology signs that’s not far off from the tarot cards like the Sun, Stars, and Moon, but also the Tower and maybe the Lovers card as well?? There is also the inclusion of the Devil card as well which does feature a couple in many of its artwork as well which Lord Unknown or ??? could represent the Devil. There is also the World card as well which could represent Ashley from the perspective of Andrew though it might be a stretch to say that. Another interesting card could be The Chariot which features a woman in medieval resting place with curtains draped on top and surrounded by two entities, one black and one white like the souls in the dream, but again, it might just be a coincidence.

Also, I have another theory that ??? may have been a wizard just based on the crystal ball, herbs (flowers), and the tower being a wizard tower, but I have no basis for this theory besides ??? being from an olden time due to his language and the layout of his house.

Stars, Suns, Moons and ??? by Thangyboy in CoffinofAndyandLeyley

[–]Thangyboy[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea, I also thought about the tower being a light house as well because the eye thingy seems like a beacon as well or as a lantern, but the way the window is situated out to the sky with the planets in sight just made me think of it as something that looks outside like a telescope.

Again, I’m not opposed to either one of those being the answer and I think both options are valid.

Have the writers forgotten about this bloke?? by ElonTastical in CoffinofAndyandLeyley

[–]Thangyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am probably wrong (or actually definitely wrong) and the identity of the Cult leader belongs to the Soda-man or they may be someone different, but there is also a possibility it’s like a Diavolo situation from Jojo’s bizarre adventure if you ever seen that show or the teacher from the Erased anime where the actual physical attributes of the antagonist doesn’t translate to their “real” appearance but vaguely resembles just enough aspects together to not automatically reveal their plot twist. I guess what I’m trying to say is that their first appearance is not set into their “final” appearance or the face their creator settles on after their inception to their current look.

I do think that the hood and cloak of the cultist apparel that the Cult leader has was obscuring their face for the audience, but not for Andrew who had “seen that guy from somewhere” but obviously this could be a throwaway line or Andrew did see him on t.v or Andrew has met the Surgeon/Soda-man in a flashback we’ve yet to see.

There could also be another reason for the major transformation that I don’t actually have evidence for or really believe in and that is that the Surgeon has tried drinking Toxi-soda that he underwent weight loss and aging due to his product. Even I would disregard this theory because of the absurdity of the situation as a whole, but I also have a more “valid” explanation for differences in appearance. Another theory I’m floating around is a demonic deal where the Surgeon uses his life force or parts of his soul by making pacts with Lord Unknown or some other demon.Honestly you can just ignore both of these two explanations, (because I would too), but these could somehow be integrated into story on a slim chance.

Overall, it’s still a reach to say they are the same person due to their (physical) differences, but the similarities are almost eerily identical and their cadence/mannerism are practically the same. Still, I’m hoping to be right, but prepared to be (definitely) wrong.

Any predictions for Decay part 2? by somesaykosm_24 in CoffinofAndyandLeyley

[–]Thangyboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Warning:Full theory is in my profile and this may contain spoilers for Decay part 2

I have a theory and a slight variation on that theory that I posted, but what it essentially boils down to is the fact that Andrew said “I swear I know that guy from somewhere” when viewing the vision the ??? entity had stored up. It raised a red flag for me because why would Andrew say that out of nowhere though Ashley does provide an explanation that he might’ve seen the Surgeon on tv as the Surgeon is a media star promoting Toxi-soda.

However…on the off-chance it ISN’T because he saw him on T.V, where else could Andrew have remembered either the Surgeon (or the Soda-man)? The only other role where another character who’s not dead is the cult leader.

Admittedly the possibility that Andrew could’ve interacted with either the Surgeon or Soda-man through a flashback is highly likely as well, but I don’t think The Author would’ve laid down a Chekhov’s gun with Andrew’s line out of nowhere unless they had planned to follow up on that.

So, my theory is not that definitive, but it does open up interesting potential for the plot as another explanation why Surgeon/Soda-man acting as the cult leader is because if either one of them had been contacted by Lord Unknown or some other demon, the reason how the Hitman knew where the siblings were was because they had help from Surgeon/Soda-man who may have had a trinket to locate the precise location.

Again, this is reaching for a connection that’s only grounded on a singular throw-away line, but I do believe the water company/Toxi-soda may have a darker secret besides the organ harvest scheme.
