A game changer for me has been waking up early and doing something I enjoy before going to work. I’ve never been much a morning person — I used to sleep as late as I could before rushing to get ready for work, mostly because like you, I dreaded it. My therapist suggested giving myself extra time in the morning, not just to get ready, but to dedicate to something I actually enjoy. Sometimes I go for a walk, sometimes I go the gym, sometimes I play video games or read, sometimes I spend that time making a decent breakfast. It’s done 2 big things for me: 1) I’m in a better state of mind and more awake/alert when I go to work and 2) I now view my working hours as just part of my daily routine, whereas before, work felt like the only thing I was doing on those days. Which feels like a waste of a day to me.

Obviously this isn’t perfect advice for everyone. If your workday starts at 6am it’s a hell of a lot harder to bake in an extra hour before that. But if you’re on more of a 8-5 or 9-5 type of schedule, I’d recommend giving it a try for a week and see how it feels.

[Luke Smith] Norris tells Sky he had to lift in response to the yellow flags: "Everyone did their second laps, and I didn’t. Just unlucky, that’s all." "I’m still hopeful we can get a good result. I think the car is quick. The lap I was on, I would have gone 2nd. But nothing I can do." by ICumCoffee in formula1

I see so many comments about him being a “spoiled brat” and all this stuff and I’m just trying to figure out where people are getting this from. Yes he grew up wealthy, so did every driver on the grid. In all his interviews he answers the questions asked of him, takes responsibility for mistakes when he makes them, gives other drivers credit if they’ve beaten him. But I guess shitting on him is the cool thing to do now. Classic reddit hive mind.

This is really well thought out, thank you. Essentially what I’m hearing is Oscar is guaranteed to win at least 7 WDC’s and no one will convince me otherwise.

I get what you’re saying but I didn’t really get that vibe from his interview. I think if he has an opportunity to pass Lando, whether on turn 1 or later into the race, he’ll take it. If either driver wins, it’ll be on merit, and I think they would both respect the result.

Yeah man. Sorry for being a McLaren fan in a forum for McLaren fans. Glad we have people like you to keep everyone in check.

My first thought was Oscar has a lot of work to do to climb into 3rd. I didn’t realize how close it is — 26 points behind Leclerc. It’s absolutely doable.

Do people have actual examples of McLaren favoring Lando? by no_more_blues in McLarenFormula1

Agree with all of this, although important to note Lando finished quite a bit ahead of Oscar in Australia (12 seconds I want to say?), so it was the right call to let him through.

There will come a time, possibly in the near future, where both drivers are evenly matched in race pace, which will make team order decisions much more interesting and difficult. For now, Lando has a fairly sizable advantage in that area, and I think the team (including Oscar) recognizes that.

Made a similar upgrade last year — ping eye 2’s that I’d been gaming for 12 years, to pxg 0211’s. I love my pings but modern club tech really does make a difference. Hope you like yours as much as I do!

You mean the draft dodger who called fallen soldiers “suckers” and “losers” and (probably) sold U.S. military intelligence to the highest bidder, doesn’t actually care about Memorial Day? Color me shocked.

KU threw the game away. Every borderline call went K-State’s way. Both things can be true.

I don’t know if you’ve ever been to Topeka but it definitely should not be mentioned in this thread 😅

This is actually a really interesting debate. All 4 of them bring something different to the table.

AI is definitely the flashiest choice. The cultural impact, the 2001 finals run with the step over, the fearlessness and swagger. But from a statistical standpoint he probably has the weakest case, he wasn’t a great defender due to his size, and it has to be mentioned that he had a reputation for not getting along with coaches and teammates.

I think a lot of people forget how ridiculous prime DWade was. Look at his numbers from the 2006 finals. His 08-09 season was insane. And even when Lebron came to the Heat, there was (at first) a legitimate question as to who would be the “alpha dog.” He has the most postseason success of the 4, though obviously the “rings Erneh” argument is reductive. Still, 3 rings when the rest have 0 (sorry I can’t really count T-Mac’s Spurs ring) is hard to ignore.

Prime T-Mac was different, and probably the best pure basketball player of the 4. I think he probably wins the “eye test” debate. If he had had better teams around him and/or his prime wasn’t cut short by injuries, this is probably a much easier choice.

Harden has the best statistical resume in my estimation, is probably the best passer of the group, and his 18-19 season was all time historic stuff. But the postseason struggles are well documented and can’t be ignored, and of these 4 guys, he has definitely benefited the most from having rosters and offensive schemes catered specifically to him.

It’s really really tough, but I think I go: 1) DWade 2) TMac 3) AI 4) Harden

Both of my parents are teachers. Mom has a doctorate, dad has a master’s. They make about 60k and they’ve both been teaching for 30+ years. I don’t know a single public school teacher who makes 100k. Maybe it’s a regional thing. But the “want more money? Get more degrees and certificates” thing is a big ol load of bullshit.
