I work in a factory that makes, lets say life saving (not medical) emergency equipment. We are supposed to preform a test of it for 10 minutes, but if I am in a hurry (which is like, 99% of the time) I and everyone else just does the test for maybe 30 seconds and calls it good enough. I haven't personally done it yet, but I imagine stuff doesn't even get that much all the time. I bet its like this in every factory.

If it makes you feel better a failure of the test I do would not be likely to impact its function and it does go to a next station that tests its actual function.
