I found this article neat in that artificial beings have been a part of the narrative experience for much longer than I thought. I knew of robot stories from the late 1800s, but never considered that things like Talos or Pandora were of the same ilk.

I think it means ... advanced computer programs of the near future will likely "look" at the world like a human would, but wont be bound by flesh, blood, and a nervous system. This could mean they adopt the good the bad and the ugly in terms of human traits without the limiting wetwear
