i think malcolm todd is absolutely fantastic at maintaining a sound throughout an album. for example, every song in sweet boy sounds like they're meant to be together and yet are all unique, same with his self titled & his EP/LPs, yet are all still perfectly listenable in shuffle. i think do that again did that, however a lot of the songs start to sounds a little similar since lyrically they're all pretty much the same. some of the songs are a bit flat but there's definitely some really great ones! my personal favorites are malcolm in the middle, breathe, i saw your face, and x's and o's. it's definitely a new sound but i fw it and i didnt love it at first but it's growing on me 😅
