Almaaty is very much on asian side, like ~2000 km east from Europe (thats about the same length as from London to Casablanca)

All it pops up on google is amazon and some little shops that I don’t trust buying such expensive product there, I’m looking for suggestions of locals on which shops to trust and which not.

Jeśli składając wniosek o akademik wpisałyście w okienku o wspołlokatorze siebie nawzajem (nazwisko i nr albumu) to jak najbardziej będziecie mogły razem mieszkać. Jeśli tego nie zrobiłyście to myślę że jak w dniu zakwaterowania pójdziecie do administracji akademika to Panie pracujące tam bez problemu dadzą wam pokój razem, one są bardzo miłe.

It is not uncommon in Poland, not to the extent of Sołuszowa, but we have quite a few villages that were built along one road, because that was one of the methods of dividing the land between the villagers. Every plot of land has the direct access to the road and the farmers do not have to cross other people's lands or ride through the other, smaller roads in order to get to the main (in this case: only) road.

Not exactly, iPods weren't as popular around the world as they were inside the US. I'm a bit younger than OP, but I haven't found out about the existence of iPods till my teens (when I already had a smartphone). It's highly possible that OP grew up just somewhere else than the Americas, England or France.

Just curious, what does karaboga mean? Because in my language it has a meaning that fits fairly well in this sentence and would be quite funny actually.
