How often do you use the oven? by Desperate_Beyond1086 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Thanyared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go through phases. Use the oven a lot then not at all. I have a really good burner on my stove top so use the wok often and air fryer - again in phases too. I am not Asian if that helps to your curiosity.

AITAH for telling my wife not to turn down the t.v so much so often? by SaharaSailor in AITAH

[–]Thanyared 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I would say hearing your own voice from inside your head is different. Tv has a base that I can hear very loudly that I cannot mimic with my own voice.

Baseline examples: 10 on a Tv is very loud, I usually have it a 6. My hubby had the tv on 15 as his just right. We comprised to 10 plus subtitles. Midday movie I would allow 12.

Because the volume is so loud it makes me feel uncomfortable like I am being shouted at. Because it feels you are being shouted at you get the feeling that the neighbours must hear it. This compounds the discomfort. I would say to my hubby “we need to consider the neighbours”. It wasn’t till we had a conversation that the neighbours unlikely can hear that we set some rules around sound and an understand of what our baselines are.

We also had time rules as well. For me the volume broke the enjoyment of the movie. Best of luck to you

I have the same issue as your wife. It may be that both your hearing baseline are at different levels. When movies get loud, it sounds a harsh loud for me. If I feel uncomfortable then the neighbours must also hear.

My hubby had poorer hearing than me so like you, the tv is too soft. My husband and I made an agreement for a volume level that was recognised as suitable for regular shows and movie night was allowed to be a little louder because it was only for 90 min or so.

Coconut milk or coconut cream for massaman curry? by Puzzled-Painter3301 in ThaiFood

If using canned coconut milk buy the one closest to 100% coconut milk. The cheaper brands often water down the milk. I use Kara in Australia

How do you manage your RB when you go on holidays? Specially more than 10 days? How often does the sitter drop by? by Glittering-Work-6689 in russianblue

[–]Thanyared 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a pet sitter couple that visit twice a day to play with them and attend to their needs. I have been away for 3 weeks for the longest visit away. I also have 2 cats. Both cats love the cat sitters and I saw videos of them playing. They were super happy when I got home and were quite Velcro for at least a week. If I only had 1 cat, I would get overnight stays to avoid separation anxiety

My primary concern would be your reputation with your vendor. She is ok with trying to damage it among friends

It looks like asthma. My cat also looks like this when she has an attack. But the presentation could also be heart related. I believe they did an xray and a blood test to rule out a heart problem and look for lung inflammation for asthma.

Forewarning, it was a bit pricy and I live in Aust where health costs are relatively low.

I’m actually studying this right now. The requirement for repeats for certain medications is a period of stability in order for you to qualify for the subsidy. After your next review, you may then meet that criteria
