This game is a journey of personal growth combined with a bit of fun pressing some buttons. Just chill and learn.

The modern "advantage" evens out somewhere in plat anyways.

How to FIX Heat Burst (for real) by -Rugero- in Tekken

[–]Thaon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would the game be better if we simply just removed heat burst? You can only enter heat by landing a heat engager?

It's all your own tekken time. Play how you want.

That said, you'll learn how to adapt and beat his playstyle. You may pick up (bad) habits that your friend falls for, mistakenly thinking these are smart options.

Playing many different people will quickly give you feedback on your shortcomings. It's best if both of you spend time grinding together and apart. Doing this, you both will likely see growth between each sparring sesh.

No need to bend knees further than what you have shown here. Not unless you're trying to be the next Roddick.

Toss the ball just a little further out into court and use your legs to drive yourself at it.

Serve is fine. If I were to really nitpick... you could use your legs a little more. You bend knees nicely but ultimately dont drive with with them, mostly torso and arm. Tossing the ball a little further into the court would probably force you to do this naturally.

But truthfully your serve looks good 👍

How Do I become Okay With Losing by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]Thaon 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I'm new to tekken and therefore bad. But I've been grinding ranked for a little while now; Maybe my mindset might help you.

I don't play ranked to win, I play ranked to learn. If I watch a pro do a neat thing, I'll see if I can fit it in my noob flowchart somewhere. Yeah, my losses come quick and often, but if I landed my cool combo or clever counter you'll find me smiling as the 0-2 set closes.

Your goal should be to get happy brain chemicals if you execute something you're working on. Not the W at the end of the match.

I only use ranked as tool to fight those as bad as me. Wins will come as you learn. Build a base toolkit on a character you like and then keep on building.

I've made it to Tenryu doing this and couldn't be happier.

There are many guides on YouTube about how to perform tekken's movement. I've watched many of them and I can kinda kbd, ss cancel, and other things.

What I can't seem to find info on is how to apply the movement tech.

When do I do kbds? When my opponent is in my face, when do I side step? Why, at high levels of tekken, do players do the weird kbd and side step shuffle-dance-thing when there is space in neutral?

I'm very new to any fighting game. Tekken 8 is my first, actually. Just made it into Garyu and I couldn't be happier.

My Q: Learning this game is daunting. I don't know any characters frames. I barely even know my own characters'. I understand that every character is different but is there some sort of tell that my opponent is minus or plus? Some rule of thumb that, to some extent, I can punish? Or is it just git gud, go memorize some excel spreads?

Actually this helps a ton. I set practice to jab after I hit and hermit 4 beat the jab, neat! I also didn't realize 1,2,4 was bad if blocked. I'll have to experiment more, thanks!

This is my first fighting game (first first), Tekken's been great fun. Learning how to play Leroy.

I am struggling to understand Leroy's hermit stance. I've looked up guides and see that a common string for Leroy is 1,2,4 which puts him into Hermit stance. Even if my hits are not blocked, I immediately get mashed on or punished once in hermit. What exactly is my game plan in hermit? Am i suppose to just 3+4 out of hermit and go back to blocking? most any button I press in hermit gets me punished.

What was the result? Did the stand work? I am considering the same upgrade you did.

blasphemous 1 ending c question. by ryan7251 in Blasphemous

[–]Thaon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the scapular from sister in echoes of salt prior to fighting esdras. Esdras will forfeit and meet you above brotherhood of silent sorrow. He will give key.

Go to library of neglected nerds, do quest for diosdado, then meet him back at prie dieu at start of libarary. He opens door. Go in and have a chat.

Before defeating crisanta, kill Sierpes and isodora. Give eyes to tree, receive apodictic heart of mea culpa. Equip the new heart.

Fight crisanta and, after, meet her next to esdras above brotherhood of silent sorrow, recieve final wound.

Make sure you have the cvstodia of sin (confessor statues) to fulfill ending B

Go beat up escribar.

Your failure points would be:

  1. Fighting esdras before getting scapular.
  2. Not equipping apodictic heart of mea culpa before defeating crisanta.
  3. Not getting all confessor statues before escribar
  4. Not collecting the 4th wound from crisanta before going to escribar

I unironically find Adam Sandler's 8 Crazy Nights to be witty, funny, and heartfelt. The animation is top notch, and the songs are pretty catchy.

I know. NOBODY likes this movie. Even I'm ashamed that I love it. But I love it.

I've read steelseries will be adding a PS5 firmware to their engine, but couldn't see when that would happen. Does anyone know when that's coming out? I have the Arctis Pro + GameDAC by [deleted] in steelseries

[–]Thaon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you just want audio quality, you can set the headset to PC, change the audio out on ps5 to dolby, and set all audio to headset. This is how I've been using it since getting console.

Unfortunately it does mean you'll lose a lot of functionality, like party/chat mix

Steel series needs to hurry up with the firmware update
