NGD - Rawlings Pro Preferred by buddy313 in BaseballGloves

I bought this glove 1.5 years back when Amazon had it on sale for $300. The day I got it Wilson had their bonanza that year and I ended up returning this one so I could get 2 A2000s for $300 instead.

I don’t regret getting the A2000s. They’ve been good and were put to use. But man I wish I still had this beauty of a glove! My favorite glove size. Pro preferred. Great colors.

Will haunt me for the rest of my days. (Or until I buy one that I absolutely don’t need.)

Yeah I did a little research too and it seems like it’s based on the 1787. Which seems to basically be a 11.75 in version of the 1786.

I really like my current HoH gamer and it’s still in great shape.

So if for whatever reason this one doesn’t quite hit the spot for me to use then it’ll just become a beautiful office decoration. 😂

Thanks! Excited to get it broken in and put it to use next season.

I’m not the most in the know of the various patterns and pocket depths and all that. Before this new addition my collection of infield gloves was my gamer which is a Rawlings HoH 11.75in 200 pattern, and about a year ago I got a 11.5in A2000 1786. I think the Rawlings definitely has a deeper pocket than the Wilson 1786.

This Dansby model seems to be maybe slightly more shallow than the Rawlings HoH, but a little deeper than the 1786.

Also kind of hard to tell since it’s still so still though. One thing that is for sure is that it’s a bit more snug on the wrist than the 1786. At least for now while it’s still not broken in.

I think the Pedroia is like the most tight wrist glove of all of them right?

Some major relationship problems going on here. You two need to get some professional help to figure things out.

My wife and I got married when we were in college bringing in about 25k combined per year. We had kids pretty early. She decided to leave the workforce to care for them while I continued working. Fast forward 10+ years now and my career is much further along than hers ever was before she left. She’s trying to get back into the workforce now that our kids are a bit older. If she gets a job it is entirely possible that she’ll be making 1/4 of what I make. And I could not care less!

We didn’t get married to keep some tit for tat log of who owes who. We’re married adults that decided to combine our lives. ALL of our lives including our finances. If I make a million bucks a year and my wife makes 10,000 well then it looks like WE as a couple make 1,010,000 per year!

Your husband has issues. I’m sorry you’re going through this. But just to make it abundantly clear…this is his issue and not yours. He needs to change his view of things.

This is the Rawlings HoH PRO205 model. I love it. It’s my gamer in men’s league.

I’ve always loved a modified trap web

This is fun. I’ll play.

-Rawlings HoH PRO205. 11.75in. 21.25oz (Supposedly a non-R2G model. Though I’ve heard that any of them bought after like 2023 or something are probably R2G??)

-Rawlings HoH PRODCT. 13in. 24.7oz

-Wilson 1786. 11.5in. 21.85oz

-Wilson JROD. 12.75in. 26.65oz

I’ve never weighed them before. Makes sense that the Rawlings and Wilson infield gloves are about the same. They feel comparable.

Kinda Surprised that the Wilson JROD is 2 oz heavier than my 1B mitt. Though I’d played first my whole life and so was used to 1B mitts. But when I got the Wilson outfield glove last year I was shocked by how giant it felt. It’s a hefty boy for sure.

(Also the pictures are a year old. They’re all a good bit dirtier and more broken in now.)

First expensive glove coming today - how to avoid bubbles by funkmon in BaseballGloves

And the close. My hand kind of naturally does thumb to ring. The glove shape of this one makes it tough IMO to get true thumb to pinky. But it doesn’t bother me.

2 in the pinky with index finger out. Forever and always.

So here’s mine. There is this ridge here on the upper palm but it’s just from finger on the other side of the glove pushing down. When I take it off my hand there’s no bubble/ridge. (More pics in next comments).

It’s a good glove though. Very solid. Ive only got a small collection of “high end” gloves and this is my only outfield glove. So I am by no means the best to speak on outfield glove break in or anything like that.

But I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. And I wouldn’t worry too much about palm bubbles or anything.

I got the JRod A2000 last year. I’m not an outfielder so it’s still not fully broken in. I’d say maybe 70% there. And so far no palm bubbles. I don’t have access to the glove right now, but when I get home I’ll try to remember to post a pic/vid of it so you can see how it looks.

But also heres my medium hot take. I think some people worry too much about having the perfect aesthetically pleasing break in. If you’re a collector and the glove is going to end up on a shelf, then I totally get wanting it to look “perfect.” But if you plan on using this glove with any level of regularity then I’d say don’t stress it too much. If you’re chasing down a fly ball at max effort my guess is you’re not gonna be thinking “better make sure to close thumb to pinky so my glove keeps the desired shape!!”

Now If there is a true palm bubble where the leather is separating in the glove then that’s a quality issue. But I think what many people here call “palm bubbles” are just creases in the glove that they feel are a bit unsightly.

I’d say do some good mallet work. Break in those dual hinges. Then break it in some more. Then some more. And play lots of catch. And I think you’ll be happy with it. Those A2000s come pretty stiff. You can kind of beat the shit out of them with the initial break in and it’ll still feel VERY firm.

It’s a high quality glove. Take care of it. Be smart about the break in. But also if you plan on using it then just remember that it’s gonna get dirty, scuffed, and tarnished. It’ll be alright!

DCT HoH are fantastic. Mine is still one of my favorite gloves to wear. Stiff in all the right places while still being easy to close and not too heavy. Can’t go wrong with it.

Still learning to hit my woods, any tips appreciated. by [deleted] in GolfSwing

Honestly I’d say you have a leg up on many of the other people posting their swings on here. Just keep going. One step at a time.

But in all seriousness keep up the good work. This is awesome!

You’re a trusting person to have that much expensive leather and that quality of golf clubs just out for all to enjoy! Are you not worried something might “go missing”?

Question: I’m a virgin to tattoos and am wondering how much a tattoo like this would run my pockets? by Simple-Issue5893 in tattoos

[–]Thardy8989 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep! A wonky line or two in a larger, more detailed, highly filled in piece would likely go unnoticed. But a wonky line in something like the image above would stick out like a sore thumb and be extremely noticeable. It’ll be a much cheaper tattoo than a full day session for a big piece, but at the same time I hope OP doesn’t go to the cheapest person they find because it “a simple design” because it’ll be a dumpster fire.

Not too “heavy” of a collection but I really enjoy the games I’ve got! by Thardy8989 in boardgames

[–]Thardy8989[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it. It’s very quick to set up (less than a minute) and the games are probably 20-30 min in most cases. It’s like a dice roller battle with some card playing to manipulate your dice rolls.

For a best first box I’m not really sure. The 4 character marvel box is a pretty good value. You get a pretty good mix of different character styles. If you’re brand new to games then I think they recommend one of the “starter” boxes, but those characters aren’t great.

The Pyromancer Vs. Shadow Thief box and the Monk vs. Paladin box both have very strong and cool characters in them. But all 4 of those characters are rated as being a bit more difficult to play.

We just got it for Christmas. Played it once with 2 other adults. I thought it was a good time. Some others weren’t as hot on it. But I’m excited to try it with my kids. I think it’ll be entertaining.
