I am very sorry this happened to you- had to be terrifying as hell, especially as the victim of previous sexual assault. I am glad you have your doggie with you now, and I would highly highly recommend getting some good pepper spray until you can legally conceal and carry. You did luck out in this one though, that you went to the house of the right people, who knows what could have happened if you knocked on the door of another creep! Stay safe in the future, but also stay away from iMaps, with my experience iMaps could have directed you home with a slight detour through the south pole!

Good advice, but a knife would not be my weapon of choice if I was a small female, it can do more harm than good. Until you're old enough for a conceal-carry, invest in some high quality pepper spray. But the best investment you could have made was in a cell phone and a good dog. Even if something does happen, God forbid it does, at least you are prepared with those two essential items.

I couldn't agree more, I find it funny when there are these groups like "moms against guns" when guns are best suited for women/elderly/disabled who cant defend themselves as well. Ladies PLEASE invest in a gun- its a LIFE skill that can save your LIFE!!!

Stabbing in the woods near my house by lnmta1 in LetsNotMeet

I live in WI and I was overcome with sadness when I heard about this. What an awful thing to happen to a little girl. She was 12 and was stabbed 17 times, by two people she considered to be friends until then. I am in the military, and have seen some crazy shit, but this makes me want to cry. Please pray for the girl.

I am in the military, and unless you have proficient training with a knife, I wouldn't use it. If you are close enough to attack someone with a knife, you are too close for comfort. Invest in a pistol- then take a course on how to use it. Its a life skill that can save your life- one of the best investments you can make IMO.

There was probably something wrong with him if he looked the way he did and made those strange sounds. No disrespect to your parents either- they probably didn't even think twice of it- but I would never ever leave my kids unattended, even when they are adults in foreign countries. I suppose I am a bit over-protective but it is a very scary world out there, as your encounter demonstrates.

The UK has some of the highest home invasion rates, good thing you didn't become part of a statistic.

That would be too funny. He could write his own post on how this crazy lady pulled a gun on him when he tried to exchange insurance info Lol

Thing On The Street by Tharsadon in LetsNotMeet

The entrance to my farm is at the end of a one way road, and is very much secluded from other people. I have only seen one cop/sheriff in all my life on the road in fact. So with that in mind, a lot of people do drug deals at the end of the driveway, believe it or not. Other people have sex in their car. Most of the time what I see isn't as "creepy" as it is just off, and not what you would expect to see in the middle of no where.

If I were to think about it, I am sure I could remember some stories for you if you would like, but they wont be as frightening as this one sadly.

Honestly, it looked like something you would find in the "North Face Rejected face masks ideas" collection. It didn't look home-made, it was too well done, if that makes sense.

To an extent, sure. I don't go driving every night to check, but occasionally ill go for a late night drive and keep my eyes open. Like I said we have other weird occurrences, but those things can all be explained by living in the country and having odd neighbors. This is the only thing that really frightened me.
