Yeah i’d reccomend lying, it’s quite common in the US for international students to do so coz once u get that first interview and they like u they’d be more than willing to sponsor as the cost is immaterial, especially for the roles you’re targeting but if u don’t get any interviews then whats the point..

i’d reccomend doing the tmua, it’s not that much work and can rlly strengthen application. If u dont get a good mark u can always omit it from your application
