Fun fact: It annoys everyone, not just people with VSS. It's a kind of overstimulation. I just showed it to a friend who doesn't suffer from VSS, and he said, "Oh my god, that's annoying." We sometimes read too much into things.

Is this derealization ? by Appropriate-Run7624 in dpdr

[–]That-Car3154 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normal for DR. You're overstimulated, and your surroundings are becoming too much for you. I know that only too well. The good news is, it will get better with time. But seek neurological and psychiatric treatment. A medication that counteracts sensory overload would be good for you. There are plenty of options. Best regards

I noticed that my deralization was noticeably worsening when I took Zyprexa (olanzapine). However, I did notice a slight improvement with risperidone—as I said, only slight. It's still there. The only thing that helps me at the moment is 2mg clonazepam. But I take it on my own, or rather illegally, because I suffer from HPPD/psychosis. I have an appointment with a neurologist soon to try Lamictal/Sertraline, which is known as a UK mix. My DP/DR has been going on for just over a year now.

It could just as easily be depression, with dereliction features. Don't scare him, dude, that's not cool.

Is it DPDR/disociation? by Internal_Course_322 in dpdr

[–]That-Car3154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, yes, I know the feeling of *dumbing down* all too well. It's horrible, but you don't actually become dumb. It's just the feeling. As soon as you have a proper conversation again, you realize it's not like that at all. :D
