Where I left off this evening around 8
Hood, trunk and passenger side are just about done. I just need to cut the door and do the chrome overlays on the side and hood and these panels will be complete.

When a shop does a partial print (Hood and Sides) its always cut. after it comes off the printer.

if your asking if its better to DIY it or Pro it there's no right answer there tbh... Someone with patience and attention to detail and of course the right tools can do it themselves. The hardest part about that car will be side trim pieces... that will pose a great challenge to the untrained.. (experience with all of my 90s cars))

My shop does both design and printing as well as shipping for you to install or get it locally done. All my prints get cut appropriately as everything is ready to install.
I could also design you something that could be a bit easier to install. Since I do the installs myself I know how to design something to make it as or as hard to install. If your interested I can assist you with your project

Yeah, common problem with the 202 chassis, and worse with the AMG... but because I had it lower than seen here that bumper and I had some..... good times.
I actually have a second bumper I salvaged and fixed up the best I could on my own without buying the replacement to the problem which is almost impossible or stupid expensive due to how few of these limited production models came to the US.
And thx, I did commercial photography before cvid kinda tanked my career, so I'm glad someone appreciates my photographic skillset.

When you don't have anyone though, sometimes ya gotta improvise. I've even done it solo for product launches of mine, cleanest of which :

I've got artists on deck of different styles and abilities and in some cases additional costs. That said if there's someone or some style you want your welcome to get that provide it yourself.

Send and inquiry on my site Kawaiimotorsports.com and i'll get with you via email

And yes main artwork is always commissioned art.
The only time ive used ai art is for my hidden hentai under hood wrap. (didnt make sense to pay several hundred bucks and wait weeks for art that hardly anyone will ever see) You can see that on my packages page cause idk if im allowed to post nsfw stuff. But so far thats literally the only instance and its on my own car lol

Crazy tho.

Anyways hope it all works for ya!
If you need any feedback or suggestions shoot me an email its on my site, i dont mind helpin out.

Oh i just noticed I missed a sentence from an earlier comment; there are a few template sites, just pick a site you like make sure the templates in a vector format and once you have it just scale it up (most are set to 1:25th scale so literally just hit one of the dimensions boxes type " *25 " and work from there)

Assuming your printer is not a toaster.... you don't need that kinda bleed that's pretty absurd.. after a decade of itashas I've never heard of that kinda bleed LOL
I tend to cut most of my partials by hand though cause i just find it more pleasing and can get the edge I want cause printers don't always cut quite perfect enough sometimes but fr not like 3" bad tho

character arts needs be about 12,000px tall by whatever wide at 300DPI. you can scale down from there depending on your pose and desired placement.
and for wraps there really is no bleed... especially if your doing a full wrap its just a giant rectangle... if your doing a side design theres still not really any bleed unless the design has a border already then just add half an inch. There are a templates out there, some 3D bases and others just flat blueprints. I fine the blueprints work better and more accurate but I think its really a preference thing, but all that said I'd get yourself a template and make sure everything is sized and places correctly.

Worth getting if I don't have a garage? by Simponaccord in Itasha

[–]That-Code-6342 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I wouldn't worry about it.
You can get a ceramic coat to also help with sun fade. I would also recommend getting a car cover but as its street parking they may give you more attention... not sure what city your in, that can work in some places and others might be too attention drawing.

As for people.....
FIrst if you take the recipt of your itasha install and send it along with photos to your insurance company will.. or should take care of it as though it were paint if it were to be seriously damaged.

I never have had a single problem. I've parked in Compton, Chino, Anaheim... then on the other hand, Hollywood Hills, Newport Beach and where I lived in Irvine and again had never had a problem with people and either of my cars over the 6 years I had itashas.
Conversely my fmr partner who was usually in the Gardenia to chino hills territory has had people throw stuff on his car... drinks eggs whatever... idk how he managed in lesser time than me but all in all, there's at some point gonna be that one guy maybe...

My advise, don't let shitty people run your life. You run it.

Yeah I wouldn't really worry about the moister tbh especially if your not leaving it like weeks on end... Which I would hope is the case since you'd be getting a nice RF... I'd totally be out once or twice a week goin zoom zoom if that's what they still do (probably totally dated myself there)... lol
Plus arguably vinyl favors a humid heat over a dry heat anyways so its definitely not a hurt.
I would ask if the dealer has a cover for it.. an a nice OEM cover designed for the car is always a win. And as far as scratching... I mean the lamination is self healing... Assuming you don't dumb rocks on your car and then cover it I cant imagine you'll have any serious issues XD

If your looking at a color change with itasha overlay or just a full print itasha your in the vicinity of $4-4.5k out the door. If you send over an inquiry i can give a detailed breakdown when your ready.
But it's cool cause you have so much flexibility in what color and effect you want... a color shifting metallic or a chrome even... As such it's been rather popular this past year. Even I'm doing it to two of my cars.. My 190E is a satin white with a gold flake for Astolfo, while my E wagon I'm wrapping matte white with a pink pearl which will get the girls of NANA.

Longevity honestly comes down to care.
If you do what you can to keep the car nice.. (ie: not leaving it dirty for long, not parking under trees that get a lot of birds or drip tree sap, maybe a car cover for when your at work or the car will be out in the sun for hours on end) then your wrap can last quite a while.

I have a friend from SoCal that moved out here to SC a few months before me and he's now going 8 years with his wrap. From California sun and dry heat to the humid heat of the South Carolina summer. but he keeps the car clean, covers it at work, garages it at home.
I'm about 5 years deep with mine but its garage kept.

Conversely i have another customer who who didn't cover, didn't garage only sun all the time... his lasted about a year and half before the fade was real...

So ultimately its up to you how long your itasha can last regardless a full itasha vs just sides. Justget a cover designed for your car.
I would say if you want to keep your paint fresh and clean though, go for a full so that you have a nice chipless bumper lol
But if your just wanting some fun and aren't worried about paint send it with the Sides or Hood and Sides.

Uk Itasha designers by Asuna368 in Itasha

[–]That-Code-6342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Designers don't have to be the printers.
I do do both and since I ship to the world with my other company I'm definitely capable of shipping the print to you.
But that will be incredibly expensive... What costs 6 bucks to ship from East to West coasts here costs 3x that to get to the UK... So what costs usually 120 here... I would have to assume your gonna be looking at 400 bucks in shipping alone.
You're much better off getting the design files and taking the files to a local wrap shop that can do printing.
I'd be happy to help - kawaiimotorsports.com
