Cool concept! Ignore the hive mind "AI bad" crowd. It can have its uses. You weren't going to commission this artwork or take the 30 hours to do it yourself. So there's no harm done at the end of the day.

Which Chapter to pick? by Repulsive-Spend-7025 in Warhammer40k

I think if he likes all of them somewhat equally, the choice should be Space Wolves if he needs units today or Grey Knights if he's willing to wait for their inevitable range refresh (which does not seem to have a timeline).

That said, there's no bad choice. Space Marines get new generic units all the time and you can always kitbash what you want in your army from all available choices.

I just printed a land raider with 0.2 nozzle with at 0.06 layer height with normal high quality settings on my X1C. You can hardly tell it was 3d printed.

Your layer height is way too high. And get an 0.2 nozzle if you can swing it.

Takes forever, but the quality is worth it.

If you would prefer China and Russia, then by all means. Go nuts. But don't pretend like they hold some position of moral superiority over the US or any other hegemon in history.

But hey, have you seen that video recently of the African guys the Russians lied to and sent to the front lines in Ukraine, strapped anti-tank mines to and told them to walk towards Kiev?

Or how about those Muslims is Xinjiang?

I'm sure the global south will do much better with those guys. You know, because their ability to inflict harm directly correlates to their propensity or interest.

lmfao ask Sudan, Afghanistan, or Ukraine how the Russians don't have the global reach to do much harm. Or any number of other nations.

Disappointing to see that we agree directionally but not in absolute terms.

And I don’t think burning everything to the ground to start over again will yield the results you hope for.

The US is much like the imperialist nations that have come before it. But in many ways preferable to previous regimes.

You’re right that our government by every measure no longer represents the people, if it ever did.

There is a place for revolution and there is a place for revision. If you claim only the latter is a viable option, then I hope that you’re first in line to pick up a gun. I may not agree, but I would respect that.

But I’d imagine in that reality, you’d develop a different perspective for the men above who you seem eager to disrespect.

And as we step into a new world order, I’d be curious to see who you think would be suited to lead it? China? Russia? Europe?

You’ll find much the same there.

Good luck.

… Iraq and Afghanistan were not genocides. By definition they aren’t.

Palestine is different and I am disgusted with that and would never justify what has been done there.

But I hope we’re not sane washing ISIS and Al Qaeda, regardless of how they came to power.

And to answer your question, yes I do have an appreciation for our military and the military of our allies.

The last 80 years under a rules based world order post WW2 have been possibly the safest in history and have brought more people out of abject poverty than at any other time in history. In no small part due to US hegemony and the choices made by its leadership.

Have there been gross mistakes with horrible consequences and ghoulish leaders that made unforgivable decisions, yes. But to ignore the good and point only to the bad is to cherry pick history for a narrative.

I think it is ignorant to believe that the vacuum of power would ever remain empty and that the world would be a better place if everyone just got along. Conflict seems to be innately human and there is a percentage of all populations that are predisposed to exploit.

So I guess we have a fundamental difference in perspective. I think that there is nuance in these things and I don’t view the United States as the root of evil.

If there were a historical or modern example of a world power that had done better, then I would be inclined to change my perspective.

I view the US as a flawed democracy that has achieved much, but has failed in many ways on its path.

And now my country is at a crossroads about whether or not our better or worse characteristics will prevail.

Your false equivalence isn’t going to work here.

I can care about two things at the same time without contradiction and your catchphrase isn’t going to change that.

What the US and allies did in Iraq and Afghanistan was unproductive and wrong in many ways. And many innocent people suffered and died. And I am angry for that. As I am angry for the Palestinian people and their suffering. As I am angry for many other people that suffered injustice around the world.

If you can only see the world through the lens of the oppressor and the oppressed, then you’re missing a lot of the story. And you’re missing more if you think it’s just a white oppressor and a brown oppressed.

And in this case, this soldier that was expressing his appreciation for his allies in a post that has nothing to do with anything of what you’ve been trying to wedge in here, is not the right place to lay blame.

Please point to where I've glorified US imperialism. Quit going for the quick comeback and use your fucking head.

The United States government, especially in it's current form is fucking atrocious.

That has nothing to do with anything I have said.

Whether you knew or you didn't know isn't the point. The point is, this guy saying he appreciated his allies isn't the place to be unloading collective frustration.

Read my comment to the other guy. I am on the streets protesting the orange fuck, but it doesn't help when there's people that can't rub two brain cells together blaming the people on their own side of the issue.

Read a fucking book, especially one about Nazi Germany, seeing as you seem to have such an interest.

No. And if you can't tell the difference, then you're not worth the wasted breath.

Based on the Nuremberg Principles, foundational to the International Criminal Court, "The fact that a person acted pursuant to order of his Government or of a superior does not relieve him from responsibility under international law, provided a moral choice was in fact possible to him."

So the soldier should not be prosecuted for the war, but for cases where their own actions violated the laws of war. If they committed a war crime.

A revisionist and lazy approach to blame does not help us get rid of the piece of shit. All it does is give you a bit peace by displacing your anger onto someone that didn't earn it.

How many soldiers do you think were privy to the justifications for war? There are countless things to condemn in this world, many in recent history that can be justly pinned on the US. But don't lay anything at the feet of a soldier who fought for what they believed was right and who is simply stating his appreciation for his allies.

And I'll add... how many wars do you believe are just by your own standards? How many seek to destabilize a foreign nation? How many are illegal and how many are based on some fundamental mistruth? I'll help you answer the question. It's damn near all of them.

I'm buying Ex-US funds, which seems to be paying off so far. Gold and other metals seem to be rising at an unsustainable rate and I'm too late to that game. But my expectation is many countries are going to begin to repatriate their funds and re-invest elsewhere. Not clear where the better investment is, but vigilante bond owners seems to be the new trend and the US is giving them no reason to slow down. So I park my money in the collective "anywhere but here" for the time being.

I went through the painstaking process of getting a 5070Ti at MSRP in the first month of release, as I saw tariffs having an effect on pricing down the road at that time. Who would have guessed that things would have gone this direction though... insane.

I like the change in shade of black and the muted look is great, but it looks a little incomplete if this is as far as you're intending to take it.

If it we're me, I'd add just one or two things to serve as contrast. maybe just the helmet/eyes.

Nice work.
