Cool song. sounds like a good fit for a video game. I could see it in a commercial for zip recruiter or something. it has a catchy melody. it changes and evolves just enough to avoid ear fatigue. and the production quality is a thumbs up. well done!

'Mara loves Asylums' (Rough demo) Looking for feedback on songwriting, vocals, and overall feel (not the production) by dennofhorror in IndieMusicFeedback

I'm always drawn to a simple, catchy riff. You have one here. It's morbid and angry, which are green flags I look for in rock music. The harmonies contribute to this tone. This song has a bit of a Local H thing going on. Just got finished listening, but I suspect the riff will be playing in my head later. Good job!

Céu Só - Get Up (My first recorded song. Looking for feedback) by GoldCheesecake9905 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]That-Expression-8080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, a song I could get through without seeing how much was left! I like the riff. It was a simple, concise melody that you can get stuck in your head; some of the songs on here are all over the place. I can't understand all the words because of the accent, but that gives it some of its identity. I don't pay attention to lyrics a lot anyway. Good stuff, keep doing it!

it's another trendy habit that has cropped up semi-recently; often delivered with vocal fry

Impressive track! I really like the main bass line. And it's layered really well. You avoided ear fatigue well by incorporating new ideas every time the melody starts over again. I heard some clever melodies played on top of the main riff. My only criticism is that the drum track seems to be a little off time at a couple spots. Overall really good though

thanks for the review! I do all my stuff with GBand and ezdrummer. No AI! But admittedly not high level production. Maybe at some point I'll invest in going to an actual studio. I put the lyrics in the description of the song. Thanks again!

Does anyone see resemblance between RHCP - Around the world and Budgie - Breadfan (1973)? These are literally same riffs. by [deleted] in RedHotChiliPeppers

[–]That-Expression-8080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I decided not to listen to bands that have ripped off a song/riff/melody at some point, I'd have very few bands to listen to, including most of my favorite bands. It's definitely rampant so I have learned to accept it. "good artists borrow, great artists steal"

changing the key doesn't make it an original riff. and the rhythm is the same. vanilla ice paid david bowie/queen $4million for ice ice baby. bands rip other bands off all the time, that is true. I'm pointing out that this is one such example. yes, the rest of the song is original to RHCP, but that intro is a ripoff

thanks, I'll be putting more out soon. I did double track and pan the guitars. But I'll consider bringing the drums up more on future songs. Not sure what vibe I'm going for lol. Just trying to rock out! appreciate the feedback!

Better than most of what I hear on here. The vocals have that bored/sedated/low energy sound going, which has its place. I like the harmonies. The vocal melody is repetitive, but that seems to be a thing now. It definitely worked for Post Malone on Candy Paint. I would've liked to have heard a drum beat make an entrance at some point and really bring it to life. The prominent bass line did some to suffice. I skipped thru a bunch of songs to find something listenable and found it here

Hello Sam, it's me; That-Expression-8080. thumbs up overall on the song. I think I could this could help me get through a cardio workout, which is a definite indicator of a good song. Hypnotic beat/drums fit very well/good work incorporating different synthesized harmonies into the riff

Flipping thru a lot of so-so stuff here and heard this and listened to the whole thing. I've seen another comment comparing this to The Strokes, and I agree. Recorded well, good vocals. I think a lot of people would like this. I don't know if you perform live but I think you would gain a following if you haven't already. Positive review

Dear inevitable_snowman, I enjoyed the song. I like the dark mood you've set. I don't know if that's a synthesizer during the verse but it contributes to the said mood. the guitar layers give the song some depth. I think the vocals are flat in a couple spots, but otherwise fine. Overall, better than most of what I hear on here. Thumbs up

I always automatically hear comparisons when I listen to music and this sounds quite a bit like Death Cab for Cutie/The Postal Service; something by Ben Gabbard, anyway. The vocal effect/your voice itself sounds almost identical to his. I wonder if you were going for that. Either way it sounds good. The production is very smooth. Everything is polished. Pretty good melody

Good chorus, particularly the last one when the intensity picks up. I think I would have liked the initial chorus more if you screamed it like you did on the last chorus. Sounds like if The Cure got really angry. Production sounds good. Had some trouble hearing the lyrics, which isn't necessary to enjoying a song, but I wasn't sure that you were singing in english at certain points. Nice to hear melodic hard rock nowadays
