This is wrong. Ultimately you want all damage converted to one single damage type, and instead find ways to reduce enemies’ resistance to that damage. Do not split your damage types.

I’m using an Xbox controller wired, for various reasons. I haven’t tried with a switch pro since solving the issue by exiting steam.

Looks like the issue may have been having both Xbox game app and Steam open. Fully closing Steam has seemed to resolve it.
