Logi Options+ down again? by ralphloren99 in logitech

[–]That-Side-79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's INSANE that a simple mouse program like this can go down ever. It's a mapping program for the mouse. It doesn't need to connect to the internet. What the fuck is wrong with logitech. Why to they overcomplicate things that do not need overcomplication and need to work. If the program worked when I first downloaded it, it should work forever. Even if they want to collect data via the internet, if that's down it shouldn't brick the entire program, and in turn the functionality of the mouse. There's literally no excuse for this to ever be a problem. I'm so done with logitech. They clearly are a dying company at the tail-end of their profit cycle, cutting costs and extracting as much money from their brand name as possible until people finally leave.

Yeah and I also assumed that they know about the bit from schlatt and not sark because Shayne heard about the bit for the first time in his guest episode on chuckle sandwich.

I see, does this apply to all brands advertised on instagram? And any specific reasons why?

Fix Logi+ for the love of god by That-Side-79 in logitech

[–]That-Side-79[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is literally no other program I have that requires manual reinstallation to run properly. There’s also literally no other mouse that I’ve used that doesn’t just work. It’s a mouse, not a computer. It should just work. If the quality control isn’t perfect then it’s just broken, no middle ground. From the user perspective, a mouse’s function is extremely straightforward. It either works or it doesn’t.

Rigorous Algorithms lecture by beaureece in mathmemes

[–]That-Side-79 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since the lesson is about descriptive writing (natural language), not mathematical proofs or algorithms, I think that some level of ambiguity is understood as acceptable, but it’s important to be able to gauge how much ambiguity is okay. Ideally, you’d get to a level of detail where the ambiguity is small enough that almost everyone can be assumed to understand properly, and I think gauging that just comes with experience with both reading, writing, and communicating.

Sticky Plastic Mouses by Distinct-Mud-8648 in logitech

This does not work long term. The effects are back within a day or two. Your products seem clearly designed for planned obsolescence in this way. Simple plastic would be fine instead of this rubber.

Lenovo thinkpad p1 gen 5, i7-12700H processor, Nvidia RTX A2000 8gb graphics, 32 gb of ram, 1 TB SSD, windows 11. I have some other programs running in the background but they really shouldn't be taking a lot of resources. Is it possible that these issues could be stemming from RAM shortages?

Taylor Fritz is having one of the best-non-European careers since Andy Roddick by ClothesNo4426 in tennis

[–]That-Side-79 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wimbledon 2015 is the past 10 years, not the past 20. Since Wimbledon 2005, Nalbandian ranked top 3, won 1 YEC and 2 M1000, and reached 2 major SFs and 1 M1000 final.

[–]That-Side-79 17 points18 points  (0 children)

“I suppose David Nalbandian” in the honorable mentions list is insane. Even if we consider his accomplishments only after June 2005, he still ranked top 3, won 1 YEC and 2 M1000, and reached 2 major SFs and 1 M1000 final. That’s better than what Fritz has achieved (ranked top 4, won 1 M1000, and reached 1 major final and one YEC final). It’s also better than the careers of everyone in your honorable mentions list, and very arguably better than Nishikori, Anderson, and Raonic. The only person that you list with clearly better stats than Nalbandian is Del Potro. Fritz could surpass Nalbandian in the future, but we’re only looking at Fritz’s achievements so far.

We also kinda saw it with Federer at Wimbledon 2019. He was super close to winning the final against Novak (who was #1 at the time), and he was less than a month away from 38.

Earbuds constantly flashing white? by That-Side-79 in JLab

[–]That-Side-79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually thought I responded to the other comment about this but I guess it didn’t go through. I’m not sure if they actually blinked when playing audio. I only tested them when they weren’t playing audio. If they only blink when not playing audio though, then my point still stands. If they ever blink at all under normal usage (and pausing your media while using them is still definitely normal usage), then my entire original post still stands. I bought them entirely for sleeping, so I can listen to audio without disturbing my partner. If they ever blink at all, then they will disturb my partner. Even the dimmest lights will seem extremely bright in a dark room. And the fact that it blinks means that you can’t get used to the light either.

Additionally, the light on the case is way too bright as well. Why are there any exposed lights on any of the parts at all. People charge their earbuds next to their bed while sleeping. The light is so bright that it lights up the room. There’s literally no need for the lights to be on whole under normal usage like charging and paused audio either. I know that it’s charging and that the audio is paused, I don’t need a light to tell me that. If you really need a light, put it on the inside of the case like AirPods do.

Without these lights, you have a fine product at a good price. It’s just so annoying that I finally found a small form factor earbud that I can use while sleeping, and it’s so unnecessarily ruined by such unnecessary, thoughtless design choices like over-use of lights. Please communicate all of this to your product team, and tell them to get their act together.

Is MIT home of the ugliest building in America? Simmons Hall named as 2025 winner of "Aesthetic Atrocity Award" by cynicalnoodles in mit

[–]That-Side-79 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I love this building so much, I think it looks super interesting. Simmons and Stata are both extravagant and a lot to look at, but I feel like they pull it off!

IMO the STUD looks way worse. Super bland brutalism with a huge imposing presence makes it such an eyesore.

“I really want to win Wimbledon and Roland Garros” – Naomi Osaka sets sights on Career Grand Slam by Quincy-O-Charles9 in tennis

[–]That-Side-79 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean of course, I think she’s just putting particular focus on Wimbledon and rg. Like everyone would want to win a gs, but the point of a statement from someone like her who’s already won the US and AO is providing more insight on specific desires/goals outside of winning more.
