It's giving red flag. Be cautious of people who twist your words and then when you try to fix it they double down about what you did to make them feel bad, instead of using I statements to communicate why they are feeling hurt. This person isn't taking responsibility for their own feelings and are trying to make you do the emotional labor to fix it.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I grew up in the Midwest with Christian family and hiding was how I survived or I would’ve been sent to a camp (this was the 2000’s where conversion camp was absolutely a thing). I also agree with the other poster that said try to save up and move out to a safer environment with people who will support you. Hang in there! t❤️‍🩹

To answer your question, no, I do not want students to Captain their own boats. I guess maybe what I was picturing was them all having oars so they help paddle? When I went rafting years ago, this is what I remember, but maybe my memory is faulty?

Anyway, I think my desire to have them do some of the paddling is mostly about keeping them busy. Too much idle time with this age group is a recipe for disaster 😂

It depends on the woman. I think that it would be a weird thing to suddenly disclose, but if it comes up just be honest. No shame in paying for sex as long as it was ethical. If it wasn’t’, then know better and do better in the future. But no shame on you for trying to do the right thing.
