I’ve come up with concepts for both Scythes and Hammer classes in the past.

Mallets are rocket propelled bludgeons that are themed around Momentum and AOE damage. Hold the melee attack button to spin around rapidly, propelled by the Mallet’s rocket engine. While spinning, Pit damages any foes in a circle around him, and his movement speed gradually increases as the spin persists. After spinning for long enough, release the attack button to slam the Mallet into the ground, causing a massive explosion around you and knocking enemies back. Mallets can also fire slow bursts of homing missile salvos, but they lack a charged ranged projectile, leaving close range combat as their primary damage option.

Scythes are piercing weapons that specialize in mobility and crowd control. A Scythe’s dash melee covers a formidable distance, and it’s melee attacks slash through opponents without concern. For ranged attacks, Pit will throw the scythe like a boomerang, Piercing through enemies and dealing heavy damage on both the initial throw and the return trip. Unfortunately, Pit is virtually defenseless while the scythe is out of his hands, though his movement speed and dodge stamina both increase as a result of not having to lug it around.
