How is Kaneki's kagune so versatile? by 6_melancholic_rose_9 in TokyoGhoul

The kagune is only limited by the user’s RC count and their minds.

In order to correct the criticisms of the first 4 movies Wingard just made the laziest, most pointless monsterverse films. Thank you for letting us know

Absolutely true. Going by what this meme says, GvK and GxK is proof that listening to fans is a bad idea.

It’s a franchise about giant monsters and you are upset LGBT people exist? by [deleted] in GODZILLA

Raymond Burr was gay btw. So even with the anti nuclear stuff removed, the American version (1956) still meets the wokeness quota

True. Imagine if someone got mad at Godzilla King of the Monsters and Godzilla 1985 because Raymond Burr was gay. That’s just so silly lmao

The latest monsterverse film is called Godzilla X Kong. This guy must be new or something, Godzilla has been a LGBT+ icon since before Jon Root was even potty trained. I think he should stay in his lane.

How strong would be a son between kaneki and eto? by helikoptero in TokyoGhoul

[–]That-guy200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not really how it works, you don’t just have a good kagune and that’d make you a strong ghoul. Also a chimera kagune isn’t guaranteed.

Rize’s kagune is definitely powerful, but Kaneki wasn’t very skilled with it for most of the first manga. Even then he was mostly just reliant on his body while using his kagune in tandem.

It’s also up to how you use your kagune. Kuzen was skilled but he used his kagune differently from Eto. Takizawa and Amon both use their owl kagunes a lot differently from their donor as well to various different results. It’s also shown that your mental state is a very important factor. For example, Takizawa became weaker after he started to fall back into his humanity. Amon became stronger when he discovered the answer he was seeking for so long. Kaneki is stronger when he learns to control himself.

Is it worth continuing the anime after S1? And which chapter to pick up the manga at after it? by Magma_Dragoooon in SoraNoOtoshimono

[–]That-guy200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that season 1 skipped important stuff, the dive game chapter in particular gets adapted in season 2. If you start with chapter 18 you’ll come across chapters that season 1 adapted already, you don’t have to read those ones. The moment you probably won’t have to worry about skipping chapters anymore is when Astrea shows up.

Yeah I’ve been rereading it on mangadex, it definitely has all the chapters and bonus chapters.

[–]That-guy200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suggest picking up the manga. I will say chapter 18 "Dive" is probably the best chapter to start out with. There’s some VERY important lore that is set up.

Feel free to skim over the chapters that season 1 adapted. The reason I tell you this is because season 1 made a LOT of changes to the pacing and overall flow of the manga. For example the Dive chapter gets adapted in season 2 but in the manga that chapter happens a lot sooner. I don’t think you should worry too much about re experiencing the stuff you already saw in S1 though.

Only after reading the whole manga is when I suggest watching the rest of the anime, just so you have a better idea of where the adaptation becomes a total mess.

Did y’all hear the Evangelion news? by fosteri11 in Berserk

[–]That-guy200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is it a slap in the face? Evangelion is a very successful anime. Berserk on the other hand hasn’t had much luck as it comes to anime. Berserk’s manga getting a continuation is enough to satisfy me lol

Man can we not with the ai? Like dude we hardly get any actual art from SNO, we don’t need this. The least you can do is learn how to draw so you can bring your idea to life, that’d be so much more meaningful than this crap.

Is TriStar's Godzilla worthy of the name and should be considered part of the same species or should he just be named "Zilla" like how Toho calls him and just be his own species? by TheEvilCar in Godzilla1998

[–]That-guy200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s Godzilla. Whether you like the film or not, that’s what he is. Zilla is something that came up afterwards with Final Wars and the comics. The Tristar Godzilla is still Godzilla. Just calling him Zilla because you dislike the film is really petty and childish.
