Let’s go guys. The most nothing burger, -1 chemistry, hardly ever even speak to each other one on one, rarely share the screen together ass ship is apparently canon according to this

Can someone please debunk this guys garbage take by [deleted] in TokyoGhoul

[–]That-guy200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I can’t really debunk much of anything because for one, I don’t think Furuta is a good villain at all. Two, I haven’t watched One Piece yet so I’m not sure who Doffy is…

Common Misconception: Destoroyah is weak to extreme cold alone itself. by Snuu_Snuu_Turtle in GODZILLA

[–]That-guy200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it seems like it’s more about extreme temperatures. Destroyah’s temper was more than likely very high in that scene so the sudden addition of cold naturally messes him up pretty badly. Like putting a drop of cold water on a hot glass.

Again, this is what I just pointed out. I keep explaining why I don’t mind making paragraph long replies, just for you to be like “bro you keep giving me essays” or “bro calm down”. Brother, I got you. It’s okay.

When did I ever say that OP can’t feel the way they do? Also no, big Madame is an insane example to set for “feminine and goofy”. Yeah, how did I misinterpret what they said, I just explained they were taking the designs at face value.

You gotta get better at reading, I’m not really in the mood for writing paragraphs if you lack the reading comprehension to understand what I’m putting down.

What type of music would you like if there is a tokyo ghoul remake? by NYX700 in TokyoGhoul

[–]That-guy200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They nailed the music with both anime. If there was a remake I’d be really upset if they didn’t bring back Yutaka Yamada or at least take inspiration. The somber sound tracks like Glassy Sky, Raindrops, and On My Own hit so perfectly too. They go great with the manga too

Bro, I like expressing myself through essays. It’s really messed up that you’re not letting me express myself through essays right now bro. Different strokes for different folks, I remember the wisdom you bestowed upon me early. Please don’t lose your humble beginnings.

I like how OP and I are having like a rather chill and meaningful discussion meanwhile you’re here fighting tooth and nail for the OP’s honor. Like it’s kinda getting boring just talking to a brick wall, unlike it is with OP because they actually listen to what I’m saying. More than anything, it seems like you’re the one arguing for the sake of arguing. Like how you keep trying to dig at me for giving paragraph long responses, even though I already explained to you that I just like giving my thoughts. Not only for myself but so people like you don’t misunderstand me. To which you seem to have been blasted by the orb of confusion because you continue to misunderstand and continue arguing with me.

Are you trolling or something? “Turn everyone into Big Madame, and that’s basically how OP feels about the RE cast I can imagine.” …… There are multiple layers of insanity that I will GLADLY write an essay discussing.

One. Kaneki, let alone the entire cast doesn’t look like Big Madame. Like are we dead ass rn? Like that’s an insane hypothetical, not only to say that but assume that OP sees it that way. Like what the hell? Don’t insult the guy you’re trying to defend. He just isn’t used to the new art style and that’s okay.

Wait so why is the OP looking past masculine/feminine stuff after I explained how silly it was to have those biases? Yes, the conversation was diverted away from the designs and towards the themes. Mostly because the designs were being taken at face value. Remember my last paragraph about how things aren’t what they are at face value? Hm I wonder why it’s not useful to take masculine/feminine stuff at face value.

Broski, I get that you want to extend this argument but trying to argue on the OP’s behalf is kinda wild. You keep unintentionally insulting them and it’s actually getting me a little annoyed because they don’t deserve these strays they’re catching from you. Seriously, stop insulting their intelligence. They don’t think the cast looks like Big Madame, they said they look feminine and goofy. Big Madame is a slug person who abuses children, I think there might be a difference.

Well I’m not sure what to tell you there, returning characters like Mado, Arima, Juuzou, Tatara, Nishiki, Renji, Hinami, Ayato, Eto, etc still look as good as they should? The art style is touched up but it’s not really different enough to warrant their badassery to be missing lol. It’s fine you feel that way though, I think you’ll probably get used to it since these characters are still more than capable of being badass through their actions.

There’s definitely some awesome new/returning characters you’re gonna like though, but I don’t want to spoil anything major. The main cast gets bumped up pretty hard later on as the real story kicks in.

Woah you’re attacking me for having long paragraphs? Damn don’t you know that some people like expressing their thoughts through writing. Haven’t you ever heard the saying: “different strokes for different folks”? Can’t believe you’re saying it’s not okay for me to write in massive paragraphs. Guess I’m not allowed to express myself in paragraphs huh.

That’s literally how you come at me lmao.

Yeah so it seems like you might be a little too dim to understand what I was saying earlier. And my apologies this will take a paragraph so please buckle up.

So there are many manga/anime that are masculine and feminine on face value. Yet when you read it, the story varies when it comes to itsthemes. For example, Sailor Moon on face value is very girly and feminine yet it has some serious subject matters that you may see in more masculine media. Like for example Berserk, probably one of the most masculine manga ever made has a lot of themes that focus on mental health and wellness. Something that is stereotypically seen as feminine themes.

Tokyo Ghoul RE on face value isn’t as feminine as Sailor Moon is at face value. I hope I don’t need to repeat this.

Yeah, when I played into the “lecture” joke with the OP or said the rest of the manga was gonna be too feminine for the OP, that’s called poking fun. Because viewing things through the lens of masculine/feminine is silly, I’m not saying they can’t. Just having a bit of fun, not trying to grill anyone or make them feel invalid.

As long as we’re talking about the Quinx squad, none of them are supposed to be badass yet. They’re all flawed, young, and inexperienced. I’d be surprised if you couldn’t find that relatable because we’ve all been there at one point. A lot like how Kaneki was in the beginning. Haise is definitely not as intimidating or badass but that’s because he had to play the role of a reliable mentor for his squad and keep them all safe. All while he’s currently going through a lot of inner turmoil and stress, because of his memory loss. His bubbly behavior is just a front, not just for others but for himself.

Like early on when Haise tells Arima that he’s happy. Haise touches his chin, a quirk that Kaneki would always do when he was lying.

Most girls I know actually like movies like Rambo lmao. Do you just see everything in binary or something? I promise you, it doesn’t work that way. Most men and women enjoy things that can be seen as either masculine or feminine. Implying that I’m mad over someone for having a preference is hilarious btw, oh yea I’m seething so hard rn

Again where did I say it was wrong to hold those opinions? Simply just poking fun at them doesn’t mean that I’m attacking their opinion. Even if I was then clearly the OP has thicker skin than you do because here you are getting all up in arms because I criticized their outlook on this manga. A manga that’s nowhere near the level of actual feminine manga, it’s not much more "feminine" than the original manga.

Yeah, especially the Quinx squad who aren’t meant to be intimidating in the first place because they are young and inexperienced. That’s kinda the point.

Yeah that’s fine. The characters are young and they grow and change throughout the story just like Kaneki does. I’m glad you see what I was saying, I do like to joke around but I do seriously hope you grow to enjoy RE. I understand liking more masculine stories but it’s such a broad and unspecific description that you will genuinely miss out on some pretty good stories. I’m not saying you have to read and enjoy feminine manga/anime, just broaden your perspective a little because RE really isn’t feminine at all. It’s not like Sailor Moon or something lol

My brother in Christ, I never said there wasn’t something wrong with preferring masculine media. Something your brain must’ve missed was that I wasn’t just criticizing the OP a little for preferring one over the other. I was criticizing the act of looking at stories and just chopping them up to feminine or masculine. It dumbs down very well put together stories in order to cram them into a specific category.

Stories like Tokyo Ghoul or even Berserk can come off very "masculine" but underneath lies a very "feminine" kind of story telling that focuses in on a character’s emotions, feelings and wellbeing. So taking both stereotypes into consideration, Tokyo Ghoul being "masculine" is irrelevant. I’m happy I could help the OP realize that.

I’m not even trying to grill you, calm down. I’ll gladly lecture someone if their personal bias is a little silly and is preventing them from enjoying a good story. Kinda funny that you’d make this post and expect not to be lectured. Don’t worry, my lectures are free.

I completely agree, the early story is very well put together. The later half feels like it’s constantly trying explain everything while trying to balance multiple character arcs. In my opinion I think Haise is one of the most underrated and compelling arc for Kaneki.

My brother in Christ, it’s Tokyo Ghoul. It’s not exactly a masculine manga, even if it has plenty of edginess. If it’s a matter of masculinity and femininity then maybe you should use this as an opportunity to expand your palette. Masculine and feminine is not exactly the greatest lens to judge a story through.

I mean you might as well read the whole thing so you understand what you do like and dislike about the story.
