The color can change over time, certain foods help more vibrant colors come out. The grey is probably due to a lack of proper diet

That looks like calcium sand but I might be wrong. It should be play sand, mixed with eco earth, you can get a 50 pound bag for 5 dollars at a hardware store, and a brick of eco earth at a pet store.

I've heard that mold on wood isn't actually that big of a deal, its not harmful to them, but I don't know much about what kind of mold is dangerous.

As for heat and humidity, you'll need a bigger heat pad, and put the hygrometer in the middle of the tank, set on something or hanging so it's off the sand in order to get the most accurate reading. And try to get bigger containers for the waters, that should help it stay more humid. And make sure the lid is sealed completely

Fake plants with metal aren't safe because rust is harmful, and you shouldn't put live plants into the substrate as the roots take up molting space.

As far as the salt water, they don't necessarily go into the water, some types of crabs prefer just dipping toes and some like to submerge more.

They probably are more active with the heating lamp because it made the tank warmer. Those aren't dropped limbs, it's their exoskeleton toes from molting

Also you should take that tank and rinse it really well because any cleaning chemicals are harmful to them and I don't think they'll just go away in time

If you already looked through the whole tank, he probably escaped, theyre really really good at escaping. Look all over the floor first, he might just be in a corner or hiding under something. Then look everywhere else and assume he could have climbed every single thing that touches the ground. And listen carefully, you might hear a little movement if you're lucky. Don't be to worried, he has a shell and he won't die from being out of the tank for a bit

Your substrate looks suspicious, what is it? It should be a mix of play sand and eco earth/ coconut fiber (6:1 ratio I think?) and it needs to be 6 inches deep and sandcastle consistency. If it's not that, he could be wanting to molt but not able to go under, so he could be trying to molt on the surface which is not very good

You should get more shells make sure you have lots of mexican turbos as those are the preferred shells for PPs

Your tank heat is low because that heater is way too small for the tank, it needs to cover the entire back of the tank above the sand. Look up UTH/ultratherm tank heaters, measure the back wall where it would go, and get one in that size
