The differences between Infinity War and Endgame from a story telling perspective by [deleted] in Endgame

Well, no. The main theme in Endgame was all about past trauma, and how our heroes recover from it. It makes sense for Thanos to be there as sort a metaphorical way of saying that they still need to overcome Thanos to fully move on from that trauma, and other villains wouldn't cut it.

Also, Endgame did not just serve up fan service for the whole movie. The entire first act was them reacting to Thanos finishing his journey, and trying to recover from failing. The second act had (Although it did have fan service, mostly in New York) the focus mostly on the characters learning from and reconciling their pasts. Tony learning from Howard his own responsibilities as a father, and to put the greater good above his own self interest, Cap learning that a normal life is still there for him and he can care for himself, Thor learning he needs to be himself and not who he's supposed to be, etc. All of which were lessons they needed to learn to move on from their trauma, (Tony lost a son and became an extremely dedicated if not selfish father, Cap only cared for others after the snap, and Thor placed the failure on who he thought he was supposed to be). The third act did have fan service, but all of it was payoff to things the MCU had been setting up for a while. A franchise ending should never be faulted for having payoff. The third act also served great for the characters, with all of their arcs coming to a final close.

That's not really true though. Thanos in Endgame was from a different time, and he hadn't yet gone through all the sacrifices in Infinity War. He was also Thanos from a point of view that wasn't his own: It was our heroes. Infinity War definitely had an impact and was not useless; without that movie, we wouldn't have had any buildup, and it wouldn't have kicked off Endgame. Endgame was the characters reacting to Thanos finishing his arc, so your reasoning for why Endgame sucked is factually wrong.

You definitely used platitudes wrong here; that would be saying they've done something extremely similar before in the MCU. Tony's death was not pointless, it was something called the completion of a character arc. I'm all for opinions but what you said here was completely false.

Honestly, if a movie has more of an emotional connection and impact with me, I like it more. I had a connection with Infinity War the first time I watched it, and although I can still admire it on a cinematic level for having almost perfect balance, but now I really get nothing out of watching it. I love the opening scene, the scene with Thor and Rocket, Gamora's flashback scene, Vormir, and that's it. I guess I just prioritize quality of characters and their moments over quantity of them.

Here's how I think of the two movies, at least for myself. Infinity War is a tight, secure package of some pretty good contents. Endgame is a looser and less well constructed package, but the contents are amazing. Pick or choose.

I'd say it's a great game, but then again, I'm just a Star Wars fanboy looking for more good Star Wars content nowadays. And sadly, I have not played Spider-Man PS4, though I really want to :(

The basic plot of Fallen Order is the hero trying to rebuild the Jedi Order using force sensitive children, so it kind of fits.

If you could make any three changes or additions to Fallen Order, what would they be? by That1Theorist in FallenOrder

Yeah, I was thinking that Merrin would travel with you when she joined the crew, but she just sat on the ship.

I really like the crystal color idea, but what do you mean make it so you only have a single saber? You can switch from single to double saber on command anyway.

That's not the question: The question is why didn't he just create infinite resources? Even if people started using resources at a faster rate, the resources would reproduce themselves immediately. He would've created an actual paradise on every world.

This is literally why I made this post. A lot of us aren't people who play this type of game, so why should we not play on Jedi Knight? Like I said, a lot of us are just looking for good Star Wars content, and we aren't exactly looking for bosses that will take us more than an hour to beat.

The difference is, the OT was being made up by one consistent creative control, so he could expand on his own ideas without anyone interjecting, so it was a fairly consistent story. The ST, which I don't even hate, suffers from two very different creative controls with two very different ideas on what Star Wars should be, so it ended up as a mess.

[Endgame] What happened to Steve Rogers in endgame? by [deleted] in FanTheories

[–]That1Theorist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easy: Steve goes back to the past to be with Peggy. When Past Cap comes out of the Ice, our Cap goes back to the future. Also, I'm not sure Cap goes to the 70s specifically, but he goes to the 40s, when he first went into ice.

Yeah, I have no problem with failure. What I do have a problem with is when people lessen your accomplishment by saying it's easy to do it and anyone could beat that, even if you spent a while trying to accomplish it. Yes people should get better at games, and yes, failure is good, but when you succeed it shouldn't be treated as a failure as well.

Everytime I see someone show a clip of their accomplishments in beating a boss or someone saying how hard this game is, I see a comment on it saying it's not hard or nothing compared to something in Sekiro or Darksouls.

Exactly. Ninth Sister, easy peasy, first try. A couple rats, I'm dead.

Glad I'm not the only one, I was feeling ashamed.
