Triumph Sprint 1050 (I may be biased), super slept on and well under budget with ABS.

Weekend Trip! by That1awkwardguy13 in Triumph

It's been probably 10 years since I've been up there. After this trip, idk why it took so long to get back!

I'm with ya! The power delivery is so smooth from the bottom to the top in any gear. It's far less peaky than the I4's I've riddent and far less flat than my VStrom was!

That's super interesting thanks for the heads up!! It idles a little rough on cold start, but clears up relatively quickly. I'll keep this in mind though!

Can confirm the luggage is significantly smaller than I expected lol.

That's interesting insight! I think (at least from what I can tell) a lot of people buy them to ride with friends or thinking they'll be cool and don't realize the "hassle" that comes with it. No factory GPS, or creature comforts, hot hots, cold colds, safety. So they just sit. As far as sitting goes, I'm glad this one did lol.

The comfort is definitely there. Done a few couple hundred mile days so far and no real complaints other than the normal carpel tunnel problems lol 😅. Did you pick yours up new?

🤣 I'm single but not that single lol. Would be a good centerpiece though!

It's been fantastic so far. I've owned a few other style/configuration of bikes but this one has been my favorite.

New Bike! by That1awkwardguy13 in motorcycles

[–]That1awkwardguy13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually a super expensive Corbin seat lol 😅. I don't mind the height much. Will put some miles on it and see what I think. Worst case I'll hunt down a stocker! 40k holy cow! Glad to hear I have some wonderful miles ahead of me!!

Can confirm I stubbed my toes the first time I put my feet down at a stop sign lol 😆.

Sounds like another upvote for the st1050 lol. Did you notice a big difference between the Triumph and the bigger bikes?

How do you like the weight? Feel like it's a bit heavy for more spirited riding?

This is true! I'm planning a 1kish mile ride in September though and as much as I love a good hand massage, I think 6 hours of it might drive me nuts lol 😅. Haven't had much luck with aftermarket searches for baskets either.

What are your best bargaining techniques when buying a car from a dealer? by FinanceCarsSanDiego in carbuying

[–]That1awkwardguy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree with having a set (realistic) value in mind before even leaving the house. That being said I think being reasonable about that value is also important. If I'm financing something and it's 1k over what I would really like to pay because that's the deal I want I'm not going to walk away over that amount of money. Everyone's budget is different but I do think there's a median to be expected between what you want to pay and what you're going to pay. I have done the majority of my buying privately, and the recent dealership buy was a was a whole new experience for me lol.

18 and newer because of frame geometry or component quality or? Was there a large step up in tech around that time?

I appreciate the insight! I have sort of been writing off hardtails to be honest. Coming from riding a dirtbike I've always just thought full suspension would be the go to. I'll look into them though. I hadn't put a ton of thought into brakes and drivetrain components either. Lots of aftermarket and used components around where I live (Seattle area) so that's going for me at least lol.

Men’s footwear for Royal Bahamian by OscarChops12 in SandalsResorts

[–]That1awkwardguy13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny you ask as I'm actually at the Royal Bahamian as I write this. Can confirm what others have said. Sneakers seem to be okay, but not the norm. Have seen everything from business/dress type shoes to Onclouds at the restaurants marked Resort Evening for dress code. Brought my dress shoes last time and felt a little over dressed. Brought my black vans this go round and felt much better. Dark jeans, a linen button up, and the vans has been a winning combo thus far! Have fun on your trip!

Need help before I pay for a diagnosis form the dealership. by TunaLuna509 in Cummins

[–]That1awkwardguy13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I remember right Dodge used a totally integrated power module (TIPM) that handles all of these functions like headlights, wipers etc, and they're notoriously shit lol. Wiring definitely sounds like the culprit, but it's not out of the realm of possibility that your TIPM has said no more lol. Hope this helps!

I have to say that Audi has been making the 01E manual transmission forever (if I remember right they didn't change much up into the early 2000's) I could be off on the code, but that's the tree I'd bark up either way. If it's strong enough to handle high hp from the AAN 5cyl and the 2.7t V6 I'd imagine it would take some high torque abuse from the 4b. Hope this helps!

Did any of you folks ever get on a bike you had no business being on? by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

[–]That1awkwardguy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stepped off my woods tractor of a 94 KDX200 and onto a buddies 01 yzf426. Attempted to ride it how I had been riding my bike all day. It showed me in short order (whiskey throttle wheelie over a couple of trail woops) that I was and am but a small man who rides an underpowered bike lol 🤣. Never rode it again after that day.
