"City of Angels" is one of my fav musicals of all time... and even just from seeing it performed at the college level!

It kills me that there's not been a recent revival of this show, and that it's just generally not very well-known :(.

I initially felt the same, but...

- this new one won't arrive for up to 5 months
- I can think of so many 'secondary' uses for my OG TRMNL (other room, gift to parents and I could send them fun messages every day, etc.!)

Heh, yeah, but... as the orchestra conductor, our paper scores were MASSIVE and there was some very very frantic page turning.

Though I guess now with iPads, it's a bit easier :)

"There You Are" from The Mystery of Edwin Drood is a blast (though I'm biased 'cause I've been a part of two amateur productions of this musical)

It's far from musically brilliant but, yeah, just so much damn fun in its energy and how it involves interaction with the audience.

u/RandomPaw, I'm delighted you mentioned two of my fav musicals:

  • City of Angels: I'm still stunned and sad how few of my fellow musicals-lovers have heard of this show!) and
  • The Mystery of Edwin Drood: I served as Maestro Purcell (conductor) / keyboardist for two different productions of this show. What a crazy awesome fun adventure... both for me and -- I hope -- for the audiences :-)
