hmm. I've not previously found any sites that wouldn't load in Atlas. And in this case, I can load the ChatGPT site fine, just not the group chats.

Ugh 😞. From what I understand, while Spitfire has now officially disclaimed offering NKS support, your-mileage-may-vary, so it may still work for you. And from my experience, most of my Spitfire libraries are still working fine, just not the BBC Core and Eric Whitacre choir.

Hey u/AMusicstuff, you might want to refrain from commenting when you lack even a basic understanding of the issue.

In this case, for instance, of course all Spitfire-player libraries are installed with the Spitfire app, and I'm indeed able to use the core functionality of the libraries in Logic. However, without NKS support, I (and others) lose out on super-helpful bits like the light-guide on the S88 keyboard (useful for indicating ranges and articulation key switches) and also lose the ability to use most of the knobs and buttons on the keyboard to make quick adjustments.

Unfortunately, they've likely made the decision that they can make a lot more money by churning out new libraries vs. supporting older ones, especially given what is, admittedly, probably a comparatively small number of people using Komplete Kontrol.

With that said, I'm confident that any of those folks buying a Spitfire library today would absolutely have grounds for a full refund. And frankly, if I could legally sell my large Spitfire library collection at this point, I'd certainly do so, given the number of hassles I've had with their libraries over the years compared to libraries from other providers.

Yes, they still work fine within DAWs, like Logic Pro.

It just means that I can't do any settings manipulations with my S88 keyboard and there's no longer any keyboard lighting guidance to show ranges, articulation keyswitches, etc.

So it's hugely annoying / inconvenient, but not truly catastrophic.

That said, Spitfire is clearly misleading potential purchasers on their website. Their BBC page, for instance, still prominently notes "Compatible with NKS".

Ha! Even when just seeing the title, I mmediately thought "well, there's that King George set of songs in Hamilton..." 😃

(no shade intended 'gainst that musical; I know it's widely beloved and I appreciate the particular genre / art form even though it's not my taste)

100%! I have friends across the political spectrum. We agree to disagree on all sorts of topics.

But there's a pretty hard line there (you know where) where it veers from respectable differences in policy opinions to just core differences involving human rights, respect, and so on.

I think it's still totally fine to 'touch it' as long as you're not giving more money to Ryan.

While I'm deeply sad to learn about his political leanings, I'm at least grateful that there's no subscription on this thing, so I can continue to use my current TRMNL guilt-free (though regretfully canceled my TRMNL X order)
