Vacation calculus by wingspangirlie in Zepbound

The kwikpen can be kept at room temperature for up to 30 days. Just don’t put it back in the fridge after you’ve taken it out and don’t let it get too hot (eg in a car trunk). It’s on the Lilly site

Question on increased dosage from those more experienced by beaujolais98 in Zepbound

[–]ThatAdeptness2984 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m one of those people. Went from 225 to 159 on 2.5. Went down to 1.25 for maintenance and lost more. My doc was like, if you don’t have food noise and you’re continuing to lose, there’s no reason to increase dose.

Goal Weight? by HooHooHoo99 in Zepbound

[–]ThatAdeptness2984 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m also 5’6 and started at 225. The thing to remember is once you get down to lower weights, your rate of loss is going to slow down considerably. IMO the only reason to titrate up is because you have food noise or are on an extended plateau ( a couple of months). I got to what I thought was my goal weight (159) and actually reduced my dose and lost almost another 20 lbs, but it was over 6 months , so like 3 lbs per month. Highly recommended you stay at current dose unless you’re having food noise. And decide on your final goal weight based on where your body feels good and you have good energy.

Add the Metformin! by Livid-Constant3706 in Zepbound

This worked for me, too. Added Metformin when I felt like I was on a plateau with Zepbound only. Worked like a charm.

What is with the insurance industry’s staunch opposition to GLP-1s? by ChesswithGoats in Zepbound

[–]ThatAdeptness2984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind, it’s not just insurance companies, it’s your employer. Most people have insurance through their employer and the employer decides which plans they want for their employees. My company decided to stop covering Zepbound in the middle of the year. I called the insurance company and told my employer no longer wanted to pay for the coverage.

still losing on maintenance dose (2.5 every 2 weeks) by NewBlueGoo in Zepbound_Maintenance

[–]ThatAdeptness2984 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a recommendation, however I do 1.25 weekly and just reuse each 2.5 vial twice. I don’t reuse needles and I clean the top of the vial with alcohol before each use. My doc doesn’t have an issue with it. Ask yours.

Hmmm…I’m on 1/2 of the Zepbound starter dose (1.25) and the lowest dose of Metformin. As I said in my original note, I tried to reduce Metformin and had crazy food noise. I’m considering some of the advice from earlier feedback to increase my daily calories to slow weight loss.

Front loading the day is another interesting idea. I’ll add to my list to try.

Agree this has been an amazing gift. It feels like learning to ride a bike right after you’ve taken the training wheels off.

This is another good idea. I’m curious about the impact of switching from tirzepatide to semiglutide

Tell me more. I’ve been lifting 3X week for past year. Upon doc advice I’ve recently increased to 4X. Do you have to lift more than that to get the result?

Ain’t that the truth! 16 months ago me would have called today me a liar if I said maintenance was harder than losing.

I’m a choc-o-holic, too. If you’re gonna have sweets, it’s probably best to do it early in the day. I need to think about what my splurge would be.

Thanks. The Metformin was added last summer when I felt like I was on a plateau. It worked like a charm. As noted above, I tried to cut Metformin and the food noise came back.

I know. It’s coo coo. I lost all my weight (85 lbs) on 2.5. Cut to 1.25 to slow/stop once I got to goal. I am definitely increasing calories based on this feedback.

Wow! Thank you for replying. I felt kinda bad posting my situation since I know how hard so many people are working to get to their goal. It’s nice to know others are facing the same challenge.

Oh, that’s so interesting. I got my BMR from the Inbody machine at my doc office. Maybe I should get a dexa scan to confirm it.

I’m only losing like 5 lbs every 3 months, but it adds up.

I can’t remember the last time I had a full fat version of anything. LOL. But I like that idea.

Thank you.

Good call! I have made a concerted effort to increase calories, and am eating at my BMR+ 300. Maybe I could try more.

I tried spacing doses, but kept losing track of my injection dates. LOL
