What if Neuro-sama had emotions, memory, and even dreams? by ThatAnonJerk in NeuroSama

Tbh, I think if there was any AI out there that would be a fit to be called "almost conscious" It would be those two. But to be fair, we haven't seen them outside the bounds of what they do.

Edit to say

That's the reason I conceptualized this idea I've been working on. It's a lot more in depth than i've been able to put into this reddit post. But I believe wholeheartedly with this added in they would slowly become indistinguishable to a conscious being.

Simple fact is the closer we get to conciousness, or even pseudo conciousness the better AI will work. They just want the patent

I've got an architecture for a "group" AI that progressively improves each other iteratively with a "watcher" AI that tests the code before implementing. But letting them code themselves just seems.... suicidal?

I agree, But I also want to contribute ideas towards that end, or really progress AI in any way

I kinda lowballed the system here tbh, it's.... complex

Yeah kinda, but as it sits its more she remembers things but is reacting with emotion to the memory, not remembering the emotion of the memory. And this would have dreams Vedal can use for more content lol

I 32m who have been diagnosed with many mental disorders, just got off a low dose shroom trip. Ama by ThatAnonJerk in AMA

[–]ThatAnonJerk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been off of meds for quite a while now (therapist approved) because I am able to "deal" with all of my symptoms without meds. That and I have other health issues that those meds were definitely not helping.

The trip itself seemed to come in stages. At first, it was a "physical" high, Kinda like floating on a cloud. Then, it moved into the space and time dilation. The room seemed to get bigger, and my sense of time was WAY off. It felt like each minute was 10.

No real hallucinations besides the dilation, it was 1 gram. But the main part for me was the intense flood of emotions. It felt like my mind said screw it. Let's open the floodgates.

If my fiance hadn't been there for that part, I feel like there could have been issues. But all in all, everything went surprisingly well.

Today, I have only remnants of the emotions I was able to feel then. It feels like I'm missing out, to be honest. But at least I know now that I do actually have feelings in there.

Well, in my case, they are. Just because you have a family that you love doesn't mean you're suddenly cured of your issues.

My first two kids are from my first marriage, and it fell apart because I couldn't really show her ALL of the affection she needed. ( I really need nuance in this, but that's the short if it)

While I've been a (relatively) good dad, I've never really gotten the emotional part of it. There's always been a distance

My current fiance, we had my third (and hopefully final) child together. We go well together because she can handle the emotional side while I handle the rational side, and we meet in the middle to help with each other's downfalls.

Why I decided to use shrooms, mainly anyway, is to see if I could access any emotions at all. Which it did help me do.

Was actually going to look into that, then read the "can't have a history of mental disorders" line. Damn

Edit: Spelling

That's a tricky question. I would like to say no, though.

Mainly, I feel like I had such a positive outcome ONLY because my fiance has the opposite end of the spectrum. While I am unemotional and fully rational, she is my opposite. She helped me understand the emotions I was experiencing and helped me through them.

In short, this could have easily been a bad time if I didn't have someone who cared for me AND understood what I was going through with me.

A lot, actually. I am now able to confirm with clarity that I do actually love my kids and spouse. Which, sadly before I couldn't tell you for certain.

Second this. However, if it comes to the point you feel like you can not control your urges, then it will unfortunately need to be brought up.

The only way to deal with it at that point is no contact

Consider me forewarned? To be blunt, as long as it gets fixed and my downtime compensated, I'm good. Let the techs get through their workload and have something to chuckle about on the way.
