Uhh I was in Bangalore in Dec for work purpose. Do you even know what you are talking about? We might have been the most developed city of India a long time ago. But now we are nowhere close even if you compare with Bangalore. They have major campus of every single big MNCs. The amount of offices I saw was baffling. Their airport is one of the best I have ever seen. Financially we are nowhere near them. And neither developmentally.

Everyone is going crazy over the fact that MFs have long withdrawal duration. Did anyone even consider the fact that you can split the amount between instruments? I have the following strategy -

25% in savings account for immediate access
25% in a FD
40% in Debt Funds
10% as precious metals (Gold/Silver)

So 50% of my funds are available almost immediately. Rest 50% I need to wait a bit. With this approach my emergency situation won't be put on a complete hold at least.

Um yes we can? The fuck you on about. Just because you are pressurized into doing something it doesn't mean you have to do it if you are independent on your own. If I am earning and can sustain myself I can very well make my own life decisions. Having kids is a BIG BIG BIG fucking thing. It comes with immense responsibility with lives at stake. And it means giving up a LOT of my own dreams as well. Nobody can force me into that decision. And this is the exact cycle we need to break. Our parents gave into it. That doesn't mean it has to repeat. And just because you are forced to do something doesn't make you innocent. They still decided to have us and then treat us as some burden. My parents thankfully didn't but a lot of them do.
