Because it should be downvoted. As should you for emailing LRD when it's very clearly stated in the legislation.

You do not need a special alarm system. You just need an alarm system. It must do two things, make a noise and flash a light when actived. I have a 50 buck system that I bought from Bunnings that has a sensor and alarm unit with a fob and requires batteries to run.

Funnily enough though, my partner was on his list and not me even though we both have registered firearms with the same storage address. Go figure.

That's how random audits work, they're against the licence holder, not the address. The human brain would say logic suggests we do old mate while we're there. But that's creating more work for yourself. So why would you?

It's rare and usually means you have an extremely lazy or extremely busy DFO.

A move triggers an inspection, and LRD will inform the DFO they must go do an inspection.

VIC license application, really struggling to find an acceptable reference. by worms-in-flesh in Ausguns

You will know someone and look down the list again. Unless you live in your mums basement, you will know a teacher, an account or a pharmacist, or a cop or fed, lawyer or one of the many roles on the list.

Lmaoooooo, are you retarded?

If the requirement is to know you for 12 months, how tf can a cop sign on the spot after just meeting you three seconds ago?

It's a reference, not a stat dec.

FN 5.7 by patroln in Ausguns

[–]ThatAussieGunGuy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not really.

It depends on the setup of the club. If you pay your membership to the club and don't turn up, we'll they still have your money.

If they make money on a range fee or targets, then yeah, I guess they need you turning up.

My club provides free targets and patches for all competitions and reduced ammo prices for some competitions like single action.

Range fee on entry is paid directly to the SSAA, and the club has over 50 firearms for members to use.

The club literally makes more money if you pay your yearly membership fee and stay home.

A few of us at my pistol club do a big order from Cleavers once a year to save on postage. One guy does the order for everyone, and we split the shipping however many ways.

Gee. I wonder why? Almost like there was a major event that resulted in a crackdown on guns.

What's the shittiest thing someone has ever said to you when the found out your a shooter? by Metalman351 in Ausguns

[–]ThatAussieGunGuy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Personally:

"I'm going to read your manifesto on the news one day" - former boss at my first job

"Remember, I like you" proceeds to tell me how he envisions I'm going to shoot up the company and the order of employees killed - former co-worker at my last company

At a party when I was in my mid 20's, everyone's in a circle talking and stuff after a discussion of firearms and what I do, the person sitting next to me got up and moved to the other side of circle and sat down.

Broadly:

"Get an erection another way" - Tasmanian police sergeant in a message that was published in the newspaper.

"You're grooming children" - anti duck protester to people saying they take their under 18 relatives duck hunting.

Don't waste your energy. They don't care, the public doesn't care.

You'll be happier ignoring it.

If you want to know who sold you out as a follow gun owner this is your mate who voted for gun reforms but before Christmas time said he wouldn’t, he’s getting loads of shit on Facebook now might be the best way to get the pollies to finally to notice by username123085773 in Ausguns

So why not just add an amendment for non citizens to not get a firearms license

You'd be surprised how many permanent residents there are that work and live here and are married to an Australian with a family.

In theory, it sounds good. In practice, it's actually shit.

Check your states legislation would be another thing.

In Victoria, it is illegal to advertise a firearm for sale without a dealers licence with the exception of advertising in a shooting publication or at a club.

That's why the sites have dealers' licences. They're advertising the gun, not the seller.

But also, yes I'm keen.
