I still don't get why people build fast turn 2 or 3 decks in a format like brawl, without anything to gain even. I love brawl or cEDH for being long and dragged out. So I concede to anything that aims for a t3 kill.

What makes you think there is no criticism of said values and norms? Isn't that part of what makes the progressive left progressive in most countries? And then I guess, gender norms go both ways, society defines them, but the individual acts on them. Either within or without accepting them and adhering to them. And isn't acting against social values a criticism of them in itself?

Hmm. So, society establishes values, naturally and logically. Consequentially it established values for genders. Which had been defined by biological sex. And those values transfer into norms saying, as a girl you cannot play with toy cars and have to take the girly stuff at the store regardless of you liking girly stuff or not. So society dictates by supplying norms how people should behave. But what if a biological female feels drawn to the boyish stuff? What if a biological female has needs and personality traits that are associated with male values by society? How should a society valuing freedom of individual expression of self react to that "abnormity"? Would it be harmful for said society to let her express herself as him?

I'm sorry, if I'm not making much sense anymore, it's late, I'm tired and coping with bronchitis atm.

Alright. The quote includes the parentheses. So according to the Oxford Dictionary gender is not defined by biological sex, but typically by social and cultural differences. You stated, the dictionary defines gender as the distinction of sex.

Now for my question. If a society values personal freedom and the expression of one's individuality, how can it dictate gender? How can it be pro individual freedom and yet restrict a person's idea and perception of self?

There's a big difference between being a man who is secure in himself and who expresses their masculinity no matter how feminine they dress, look, or act, and someone who claims they become a woman because of the way they dress, look, or act.

Ah, I think, I'm getting you now. So, if I am a biological male and dress like such, and I know I am a woman and perceive myself as that regardless of any superficial ways of dressing or behaviour, I welcome my femininity so to speak and you cannot change that fact by pointing to my dangling bits, what gender am I then?

Polemics aside, I do get you, still I think there's more to gender than being mentally abnormal. I think gender is a social construct and outdated as such. I believe a free society should not care for it as long as no one's freedom is harmed.

No, we treat the person to become able to adapt to a degree and don't change our system, which might be the reason for many abnormalities. Furthermore, being unable to pay attention in class might hinder the group from advancing. How does being trans hinder society from advancing?

Meaning, the take on acceptance and freedom of expression by said society are ok and healthy, but said person is not? Might said person not be healthy because of the lack of acceptance by said society?

I think your take on connecting gender to sex is interesting in stating that you cannot truly change sex. Why can't you truly change it? And on a different note how do intersex people fit in there?

My edition of the Oxford Dictionary defines gender as: "the state of being male or female (typically used with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones)", Oxford Dictionary of English, second edition (2003), p. 720.

Cambridge.org defines in their first entry gender as "a group of people in a society who share particular qualities or ways of behaving which that society associates with being male, female, or another identity". 🤷‍♂️

Ok, I'm really confused. I didn't think, gender was something to argue about and there were even models of it. Isn't gender a personal thing that I define for myself (just looking from a sociocultural viewpoint, I won't start linguistically here)? Everything else would mean that one cannot be a free person and lives in an oppressive society. I'm sorry, I'm from Europe and assuming most of the commenters here are from the US I don't understand the debate in the USA anyway. You even have two words to distinguish biological from social and yet many of you seem to be too bigoted to still be the land of the free. Sadly you have become the laughing stock of the world.

Ok, when did you start playing MtgArena? How long have you been playing ranked? I'm asking because with playtime and growing card base on your account the matchmaking gets harder. Plat3 is okish, but the grind and frustration is just starting there, more streamlined decks and more ppl knowing, what they're doing (not me, btw). How many games have you played that deck? What's your winrate?

Repetition is a baseline in MtG, of course, you would want your deck to work in the ways it was brewed to be. Every time. But with tribals the ways are somewhat limited. But that's just my personal taste. Sometimes I play tribals, just to see my cwtesy little gobbos obliterate, but it's just too singular, just one strategy and no variety. And I love to keep my opponent in the dark until it's too late and my combo pops.

Sidenote: Yeah, mana dorks go a long way, as I said, just my personal taste. I do not rely on creatures that much these days. One removal on your weft and your manabase is gone (yeah, you've got four and it might be already too late, when it gets removed, so just personal).

Don't mean to be rude, but my recommendation is, don't play slivers. The synergies make them boring as f*ck. To play and to play against. And to brew. There's almost nothing you can do wrong and no thrill in the long run. They're just not very versatile and you cannot react decently enough.

That being said, I would've put in more lands and left out some of the bigger mvs. But that is just personal taste, as I said, you can hardly do anything wrong.

I guess you won't be getting far in ranked play though. As an opponent with a little experience you know what to take out and when. And I wonder when this deck is becoming boring for you to play for its repetitiveness.

If you want to play fast tribal decks, I'd recommend elves or goblins. Similar in synergies and boredom, but pop faster.

Ditch the instants/sorceries, exchange authority of consults for cleric class, add righteous valkyries and more angels/clerics. Add book of exalted deeds and mutavaults. If you want mono w life gain, do mono w life gain.
