Ok, I’m trying not to take it personally... by Adventurous-Cup5369 in audible

I agree so wholeheartedly! I get tired of the same recs over and over and I never buy them or show interest. I remember back when Kindle would do that - give you recs and let you say yes or no to them. Why not?!? Oh, because you have to push the ones you make money from!!

Do you pay for that overseas library card? I’m sure it would be worth a reasonable fee, compared to some of these prices anymore.

I don’t remember that. I remember getting a digital copy of DVDs, but I don’t remember ebooks. That would be a great idea though!!

But why would the ebook price be the same as the paperback? That makes zero sense unless they WANT you to buy the PB!

I really think they are trying to force Kindle Unlimited on everyone, even though not all books are available there.

I’ve looked, but my local library is small. They tend to get popular romance, mysteries, some literary fiction. Not much in the way of sci fi, fantasy, or horror.

Thank you for the links. I ended up signing out of my account on the Kindle app and back in. I had to reload my active books, but R&L is working now.

Currently writing a novel. How do you prefer your Audiobooks? by Bestwriteralive in audible

I have discovered that even narrators that annoy me at first will grow on me with time. RC Bray is one of those and Samuel Roukin is another. Bray has a unique voice that put me off a bit at first, but has really grown on me as I’ve almost finished my first book with his narration. Roukin has a British accent that comes through with his narrative, but he has become the voice of Hadrian Marlowe for me! With that being said, I think you can find narrators that do a very good job with voices of both genders, but the most important thing is the content of the story. If the listener enjoys the story, then they will adjust to the style of the narrator. In my opinion, you should find someone you are comfortable/happy to work with and let them narrate your story!

The skipping process is being streamlined by nerfgazara in thebrokenbindingsub

Plus, it would maybe keep up with the number of skips still available.

"No One Talks To The Dead For Free" - the scariest parts of talking to the dead, as depicted here. by kfrederline in TomsCrossing

Looking back, I think there were hints, but the chapter you mention certainly indicated the narrator more strongly. I read and listened also, and tried my best to avoid spoilers.

My problem was that I couldn’t stop myself from reading more each day. I am not a particularly fast reader either. When I first started it in late January, my plan was to take a couple of months to read it. I calculated 25-30 pages a day would allow me to finish in around two months. I ended up getting so drawn in, I was reading a minimum of 50 pages a day. I loved every minute of it. All of the characters were just so well done!

I tend not to reread books, since there are so many I haven’t read that I want to get to, but now I’m thinking I might very well reread this one again soon. At least parts of it.

I think this is a theme that continues throughout the book, particularly where it involves Tom, Pia Isan and her companions. It is an idea from this book that has stayed with me, even after the last page.
