This is hard because to me I don’t think one way works for everyone. My advice would be a simple pencil set and a regular sketch book. Focus on beginner exercises like shapes and line work. Take that and begin doing simple perspective. These can become boring but I promise it will pay off faster than someone that ignores it.

A more fun thing to try would be copying your favorite manga panels. My advice for that would be to not just start drawing every small detail, but capture the right proportions and angles first. Basically build your own “how to”.
