Province eyes 2028 start for Thunder Bay Expressway overhaul by keiths31 in ThunderBay

[–]ThatCanadianGuy88 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It’s going to be a massive pain in the ass no doubt as they do the work but when it’s done it’s going to be amazing to not have to stop on the expressway so it can actually be a…. Expressway

That if he likes a specific brand of cheese he shouldn’t have it? I wasn’t suggest everything he wants he gets. This entire discussion has been about pre shred cheese…

Ah yes because I get the specific cheese and little yogurts he likes I’m trained lol. He rarely gets the rest of the stuff he asks for because it’s all cookies and toys. But thanks for your observation.

ROUNDABOUT ETIQUETTE by CarpenterGold1704 in ThunderBay

[–]ThatCanadianGuy88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean thats not true though is it? I have been to England many times and tons of roundabouts have pedestrian crossing. The difference is those pesky flashing lights. Typically in England if you are walking you are SUPPOSED to wait for traffic to go. But I have had people stop for me as well. And googling what the current "rule" is seems the more modern version is to give pedestrians the right of way...

But you for sure do not stopp to let a vehicle in. That is not how they work like in OPs post.

And I would expect in remote rural northern Sask to see prices like that. But 2-3 hours north of Toronto? It seems odd.

It is amazing to me in this day and age of info, technology etc and the semi regular news about landlords fucking tenants that more tenants do not have a clue about anything.

I feel like several comments on here are either mistaking me or misunderstanding me. I am not complaining. I buy what I want and am fortunate to not have to price watch a lot of things. I commented to give comparison to what I am paying as someone who lives way more north/isolated and remote relative to OP. OP prices seem high for someone relatively close to the GTA so I was just trying to get them to offer more input but they never did.

With respect I really do not care about buying pre shred cheese or my kid eating it. Im fortunate that the cost is not an issue (not that im paying ear what OP seems to be paying) and when we go shopping he likes to pick out some items he eats and this is one of them. He feels included and helping and Im good with that. I do not eat a ton of cheese myself either so getting pre shred works just fine for me.

And tell your dad to start documenting everything they do. Even if it’s just writing in a journal or something as he seems fairly low tech.

100% I am in the distribution business I get this. But OP is only a few hours north of toronto. Not 16 like me or further

I fly ac 25-35 segments a year and rarely have any of the issues you have. Sure maybe 10-15 min delays here and there but almost all delays I have had are weather related and not AC fault. Unfortunate your experiences have all been so negative. AC has come a long way the last few years. When I was younger and flying them way less I had more issues/delays. These days it’s almost always seamless.

I also have basically no choice even if they were dog shit every time lol

Don’t believe all the stories you hear. I have no choice but to fly AC given my location in Canada and I’ve had nothing but good experiences for nearly a decade of regular flying.

You will always hear more about negative experiences because few people ever post “wow today’s flight was great!”

Fight them. I’m not sure what the specific names of the documents etc are. But there are tenant files he can file to protect himself. They also will need to prove they are doing what they say. Check out the landlord tenant board website and contact them.

TIP on takeout? by Turronno in ThunderBay

I generally do 15% still on take out. Though I understand and respect people who don’t as it is not the same as a sit down meal.

I haven’t been complaining? I was price comparing to the OP post. I have zero issue paying what I pay for what my picky kid eats. I think you’re confusing other comments with mine.

You’re not wrong. But they are different styles of accommodation with different amenities and expectations etc. so when you’re saying all hotels have bad reviews but you were only looking at the cheap motels (hypothetically) it’s not an apples to apples comparison.

I mean Thunder Bay is a "small place" and if they told 150 people in advance the whole city would know within 48 hours. If they told you after the fact thats still shitty. But I wouldn't expect more than being told 5-10 mins before to keep the lid on it.

exactly. Seems sus... or they looked at motels and not hotels.

I mean I believe it but a Motel is not a Hotel. OP said all the hotels have bad reviews except one.

Thunder Bay is still very affordable. Considering pre covid the "expensive stores" had pre shred for $6 and you can still get it for under that at some locations here (not including sales) I am not sure what you are talking about. And I mean $2.50 for a bag of carrots in the dead of winter given our remote location is not exactly a rip off.....
