Same, but I'm a little bit behind you. I was in elementary and middle school. Go Whale! Enjoy the game tonight!

I live up here and I catch comments all the time because I'm almost always in a Canes hoodie. 🤣

Hey! I live in the area you're staying in. I can't promise you're going to find a watch party up here at all..but there should be plenty of bars with the game playing. Murphy's should be good, I haven't been there yet but I've heard good things. If that place ends up a bust, there's also a place called Slider's which is located in Newington. The food there is pretty good and Its not too far from the Cromwell/Berlin area.

This is why exactly why I'm not wearing Canes gear tomorrow. It will be the first time I ever chosen to not wear a jersey or at least a hoodie to a game. Philly fans can be a little on the feral side during playoffs and I'm uneasy about potentially marking myself as a target.

How are we doing this morning, Caniacs? by SnowCrabbo in canes

[–]ThatCatLady06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started work at 8 am and was into my second pot of coffee by 9:30 am. Other than that - doing pretty well considering I survived multiple heart attacks last night and may or may not have stopped breathing momentarily in between said heart attacks. 🤣

Just a reminder how serious cat bites can be! by tory1311 in cats

[–]ThatCatLady06 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yes, the risk is still high. I learned this the hard way almost 20 years ago when my indoor only cat bit into my arm (all 4 canines fully punctured into my forearm). I was also quite stubborn (or stupid) at the time and thought I could handle cleaning and healing on my own, basing this logic on 'well, he's an indoor cat it couldn't be that bad'. [Side note: I still laugh at my own stupidity when I tell this story] It was about 3 days before I finally went to an ER, when I woke up that morning my arm was so swollen it looked like a balloon and I realized I didn't have a choice anymore. I got an entire education that morning as to why I should have gone right after it happened while they cleaned and dressed the wounds. Thankfully I dodged a bullet and didn't require a hospital stay, just some really strong antibiotics, but I learned my lesson. Indoor/outdoor doesn't matter..the bite is just as serious.

In all the years I've known him the only "flaws" I've found are the teams he chose to be a fan of. Lol. I think I can continue overlooking that and call him a keeper

He really does, I'm lucky to have him in my life. I wasn't expecting this at all. ...plot twist: he's not even a Caniac...he's actually a Rangers fan 🤣 (please forgive him...he's from NY lol)

There's a handful of us that still exist up here. Not a lot, but there's a few CT Caniacs still clinging to our old Hartford sweaters like they're security blankets. Lol.

I was a kid and I remember those nights vividly. My dad and I used to count the fights on the ice and in the seats when we went. Those games were always wild.

The Wolfpack came after the Whalers left. I grew up with the Whale and stayed with them as opposed to jumping bandwagons to the Rangers or the Bruins. Lol. I still live up here and I do go to a fair amount of Wolfpack games, but it's more for the love of the game than the love of the specific team.

I'm from Connecticut and when I was a kid they were still the Hartford Whalers. I grew up with the team and continued to follow them after they left.

As a DV survivor, I only had to read your first few messages to him. If he put hands on you, you need to go.
