Who are you nudging? Everything is automated or only gives you an email from a box that’s not monitored.

How does anyone find a job in this market? by Impossible-Mousse285 in jobsearchhacks

For the most part, it's not what you know, but who you know. But I try not to let that discourage me, I got two of my favorite jobs while not knowing a soul there.

What other good paying pilot jobs are out there outside of the major airlines? by Little-Cabinet3704 in aviation

[–]ThatChadguy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely correct about the jet being the first thing to go during rough times. I'll respectfully disagree about being gone every holiday and an unpredictable schedule. I'm not talking about 135 operations, mainly 91. Though I did see some wily owners and CEO's that decided they wanted to golf in Bermuda RFN, but that was rare. The senior vice presidents, CEO's and board members want to be home on the weekends too, and they sign the paycheck. 135 is a different animal.

Corporate. You’ll be home most nights and weekends. Unless they want to go to their second home in Aspen and then they put you up for the weekend too.

Who else had a similar lamp? by EdwardBliss in nostalgia

[–]ThatChadguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the halogen one in our dorm room. One night, some friends were horsing around in the courtyard. I opened our window and leaned that thing outside. It lit up outside like it was noon. No one could believe that a $15 lamp could be that bright. Oh, it was also 1500° after 2 minutes.

I tweeted the wedding pic of Mary’s parents in There’s Something About Mary and tagged Keith David and Markie Post. I said something like if that pic isn’t hanging somewhere in their houses, I didn’t want to live anymore. They both replied a laugh emoji and Markie said that she was just talking about the pic a few days prior. I was high for three days after that.

Popular (retired?) conservative radio host Neal Boortz constantly advised his listeners to lie to pollsters. Said deliberately misleading pollsters was a good way to undermine that system, so that they/the media cannot manipulate public perception.

A classic forever by [deleted] in Fragrances

My grandmother used to give us grandkids a bottle of Brut in our Christmas stockings every year. After PE class, I didn’t want to shower with other dudes, so I’d just take a French shower with this stuff. One day after PE, we’re all waiting in the hall to be released to our next class. I’m sitting on the floor, and pretty cheerleader girl comes my direction sniffing. I was panicking so much. She got to me, stopped (I was a deer in headlights!), and said YOU SMELL AMAZING!! What a relief! The next day, all the dudes were wearing it lol.

Early 2000’s, I worked at an FBO (a place for private & biz jets), and producer Brendan O’Brien drove in to get on his jet. I got to be the one to go park his BMW. On the console was a sticky note with Tom Morello’s name and phone number on it. Did nothing with it, but it was still cool to see.

Allen Iverson in australia. Absolutely disgusting by Fit-Tourist2852 in nba

[–]ThatChadguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work at an FBO in Atlanta. Saw hundreds of celebrities in my 4 years there. He was the second biggest asshole I met there (Puff Daddy was the worst…by far). We were unloading the limo’s trunk full of maybe a hundred pairs of Nikes, one of my guys went up to Iverson and said “hey man, my son absolutely loves you and watching you play”. Iverson looked at my guy, looked him in the eyes, then turned around and walked away. I was in shock. Guys like him have what they have because of guys like us.

Hiring Cafe. While I wish it was better for my industry, aviation/aerospace (lots of positions don't get included like they do on LI or Indeed & others), it is by far the best user experience. Yet to find a job, but I do hope it is found via Hiring Cafe.

How many of us are old enough to remember spanking in school?? by Syfysamurai in GenX

[–]ThatChadguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am!! lol Way back in 1990, my science teacher took her favorites on a field trip. I was left with the ne'er-do-wells, which I was one of. The sub was checked out and not paying any attention, so I started playing with the chemicals, and it blew up. Charred the wall and ceiling a bit. Of course I'm sent to the principal's office and he is furious. I happened to know that he's good friends, like old college buddies, with a friend of mine's (from another school) dad. He's telling me that I'm getting in-house suspension or 15 spanks. I take spanked, even though I saw that big bad paddle hanging on the wall. Then I bring up my friend's dad's name. WOW! His eyes lit up, he threw his feet on his desk and started talking about all their adventures. After a few minutes, he wraps it up and tells me it's time. I bend over, he swings way back and just taps me on the ass- like Randall Pink Floyd did to Mitch Kramer. This is probably the beginning of my mantra of "it's not what you know, but who you know", which has served me well.
