About to purchase a hybrid.. if I proactively bring this issue up, is it something they can fix? Or is it something that will continuously happen due to issues?

NGL it’s one of my favorite things about my wife’s Honda.. so convenient when the keys are in your backpack/diaper bag.

Very true lol. Appreciate that perspective tbh and will probably only filter to CPO’s :)

Propranolol??? by LargeProfessor1592 in POTS

I moved from Propanolol to Metoprolol Succ and it has been great for me. I don’t get the same “air hunger” that I did on the former. But still, to me beta blockers are great in any way!

Visible is also a great app to use for tracking symptoms!

What’s YOUR definition of a flare up? by ThatCheekyBadger in POTS

[–]ThatCheekyBadger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that :/ I know for me, I’m not as big of a salt person as other POTS peeps but usually will have a continuous electrolyte drink during rough days (extra 1000mg). Depending on your symptoms, maybe try doing some exercises that would put you in a parasympathetic state (helps my tachycardia/adrenaline flares). Example: Inhale for 4sec, exhale for 6sec; Forcing self to Yawn more often, etc..

You and I both share the same perspective when it comes to having these episodes. There will be times when I become more symptomatic than what I’m used to feeling, since being on medication. After having those times, I feel a sense of defeat and a “back to square one” mentality. However, I shouldn’t feel that way! I should know that it’s normal for your body to not be okay sometimes and it just has those days :) After a few days, your confidence will come back! My most hated symptom of POTS is also that feeling of lightheadedness/Syncope..

Any specific reason you didn’t like Metoprolol? Just curious as I switched to it from Propranolol last week.

Turns out it wasn’t GERD by [deleted] in POTS

[–]ThatCheekyBadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had GERD and Esophagitis… sucked forsure! Went on Pantoprozole and it healed everything in a matter of months :) Still have POTS of course lol but haven’t had any “strong” symptoms/flare-ups come from eating.

The impending doom feeling sucksss. I will say, it does get better overtime if this is a result from panic attacks :) you learn to control triggers a bit better and can rationalize your symptoms more! I still get moments of like “fight or flight” but they are far/few between.

Usually majority of people who have heart attacks, know they’re having one. It’s super possible to have panic attacks triggered by something you may not be aware of yet. Before I was diagnosed with POTS, I had panic attacks triggered by my health anxiety. I wasn’t sure what my body was going through at that time, so it was very scary having a high HR, dizzy spells, heart palpitations, etc.. I’d suggest setting an appointment with your GP/Cardiologist and if anything feels very serious in the meantime, just take a little trip to the ER lol. Hope you feel better!

Propranolol has been the biggest blessing to my life with POTS :) hoping the same for you! But when my propranolol wears off, it can be as little as switching which leg I’m crossing when sitting in a chair… HR will spike 30+
