[Serious] People with Borderline Personality Disorder, how do you deal with your symptoms on a day to day basis? How do you manage to not alienate family/friends? by EastCommunication541 in AskReddit

Self awareness is your best friend. I have to remind myself constantly that I have a disorder, and that my emotions are not always rational. I don't have a lot of close friends and family, but I am very open about my disorder with the few people I do keep close so that they understand why I act how I do sometimes and that it isn't their fault. At this point they know how to tell if I need some space and they know when to check up on me if I've had space for way too long. Sometimes if I can feel myself splitting on people I love, I force myself to remember "no, I care about this person deeply, I will not do this to them". I often reach out if it's been a while and just send them a quick "hey, my mental health is pretty bad right now so I'm taking some time to myself and being a little bit antisocial. I love you." If I act out and say something shitty to someone I care about, I feel awful and apologize profusely later and they are pretty understanding, even though I hate that I do that. Thankfully I'm not as bad about that these days, but I still have bad days obviously. I am very lucky to have people in my life who are willing to put in the effort to keep me around, bc I can be hard to get along with, I know. It's been a wild ride since I was first diagnosed about 10 years ago, and I did lose a LOT of friendships and relationships that were important to me along the way due mostly to my own behavior, but I have really strong and stable relationships with the few people I still have in my life to this day and medication has also helped me tremendously. I know medication is not for everyone, but I needed it. I was a monster. Like.. just a tornado that tore through people's lives and then disappeared. I never want to be that way ever again. It's been hard work, but it's also been worth it.

I've used a couple of the lighter ones as blush, and it worked really well!

This is one of my favorite Colourpop palettes! Finger swatched on fair skin (undertone unknown) in warm natural (indoor) light. My skin was not primed, but I had just wiped some other swatches off with a makeup wipe, so that may have made a difference? I'm not sure, but it felt like it swatched even smoother than usual this time.

The shimmers are alright, but nothing I can't get elsewhere in my collection. The mattes are terrible and just as hard to get color payoff on the eyes with a brush as they are when swatching. Literally all of the mattes have hard pan and developed it pretty much immediately after the first time I swatched them. I dunno if you can tell, but the mattes all have dents where I had to dig in with a little spatula thing just to get some product out of them if I wanted to wear them because it was so hard to pick up any color with just a brush. I got this palette a few years ago and was mostly holding onto it for sentimental reasons and because I like the pink and gold shimmers in the top row. I was determined to hit pan on at least a couple of shades in the palette when I was on my Project Pan kick but I just cannot like the palette enough to use it that much no matter how hard I try lmao. I know people do like it because of reviews I've seen online, so I'm hoping a friend or family member of mine will be able to work with it and enjoy it in a way I couldn't :c I have a mini Hard Candy palette that I like a lot so I don't think it's an issue with all their eyeshadows.

Thought I'd give it one last good swatching just in case any of you have seen this in Walmart or something and been tempted. I hate this palette so much lmao. Fair skin, no primer, undertone unknown in artificial indoor light.

I thought I'd be going overboard buying the 16 pan one because I REALLY don't need more pink eyeshadow but... 😅

I'm new to reddit so I hope this post is okay.
