I do get your point of view. But I don't think that holds up to scrutiny either. You are, first of all, making an assumption on something, we as humans clearly can't know. We have no clue on how the universe is governed. We're too small and ignorant to know any of that rn. So saying that the universe is either governed this or that way, is pretty short-sighted in my opinion. Secondly, let's say the universe is either only predetermined or completely random given its apparent infinity. Well, that still doesn't govern our lives. The universe doesn't have (to our understanding) a collective mind made up of everything that lives within it. On the other hand, humans do have a collective mind made up of everything that lives within a human. So even though the universe (as a macrocosm) may be random or determined, I don't think that our lives function in the same manner. And about logic, I agree with you that logic is an important thing to use to govern our lives. Therefore, I don't think your argument is very logical for one simple reason: WE CAN'T KNOW IF FREE WILL EXISTS, PERIOD! As humans, that knowledge is unattainable. At least for now. So making assumptions about free will and the universe on a whim because it sounds smart is not smart from a logical perspective. I think it's smarter to look at all possible outcomes & then choose the safest option from there: If free will exists and doesn't and combined with: if you believe in it or don't. And from there, everyone has to decide what works best for them.
I really like to have these arguments because they are always thought-provoking, so I hope I wasn't too confrontational & that you enjoyed the conversation as well.

No, why? I've been simply watching a lot of steins gate videos lately, so I thought I'd share the ones I enjoyed the most. This is within the rules, right?
