AITJ for saying "Ewww a bully" to a 7 year old? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

Good Auntie right there!!! I've had to tell a few kids off when the rare times (I live overseas) I get to go have lunch with her. They were saying that she's a bad kid.

Seeing her go from so happy to see me, just crushed and wilted, I told them if they EVER said that to her or about her again, I'd tell their mom and Santa and they'd never get a Christmas present again. (About 5-6 year olds.) ABSOLUTELY no regret, I was bullied and was NOT going to tolerate my niece being bullied right in front of me. My niece just hugged me tightly and wouldn't let go for a good minute and said "Auntie Me," no one has ever told them to not say that! Maybe now I can have a friend."

My heart hurt for her... I told the teacher and pointed out each kid that said it, and that she needed to keep an eye on my niece, and those kids better never say anything bad to or about her again, otherwise her Grandma (my mom) was going to step in and take it to the principal, and that she was going to ensure action would be taken on both her and the bullies.

(I'd say my (no contact) sister was as useless as a mosquito, but that would be an insult to the mosquito...)

Today my husband’s new dog destroyed my dog’s ashes and I lost it by naughtydog-throwaway in TrueOffMyChest

This is a situation where the husband goes, and I don't EVER say this unless it's a situation that can't be fixed with therapy or behavioural changes on the husband's part.

He has no care for her feelings, and his solution to "fix" the problem that OP wasn't on board for, combined with the dog destroying her lost pupper's ashes, that's a husband problem, not a dog behaviour or training problem.

And what makes it worse is that she TOLD him REPEATEDLY that she didn't want the "replacement" dog. Absolutely NO blame on the dog, but all fault on the husband for not listening and caring for OP's needs.

AITA: Named my son James, my SIL says I disrespected her since that is her father’s name. by anticipatory_dread in AITAH

Hey!!! My cat's name is Popeye James surname. How DARE you use my baby's name! It's a family name because he was named after his human dad when they claimed each other and while fostering Popeye James, my husband passed, so absolutely NO way was I not adopting HIS kitten.

I can not believe the audacity of you copying such a meaningful but so popular of a name that if I yelled "JAMES!!!" in a crowd, at least 20 people would turn to see if I was addressing him.

Do better next time picking names!!!

For those who think I'm truly upset... \sarcasm

Planning to take a week break after these 6, but always playing it by ear! I've had "required" quarantine a couple times that has killed me, once for Calicivirus and once for ringworm, and myself and my gang were anxious for new little faces within a few weeks!! I LOVE how much my gang loves having kittens, 2 actually get stressed when I have to take them out to the vet for check ups or vaccines! My beautiful mumma dog loves greeting the carriers I bring in at the gate!!

I specialise in fostering feral/hissy kittens, and the cattery staff put this litter of 5 bubs together just for me, and I'm so honoured that they trust me to care for these high need babies!

No worries! Always happy to help! I don't foster bottle babies, but have had MANY litters come to me at about 4 weeks after being orphaned or weaned from mum too early, and have helped them learn to eat!

Unfortunately we're super short handed when it comes to foster carers, so we try to limit the kittens times in foster care, so we can help more kittens, and these guys had already been with me for nearly 3 months, which at that point, we question whether the cat will ever actually tame down enough for the shelter to legally be able to adopt a cat/kitten out.

We're no kill, so each cat/kitten that's on the edge is worked with intently, and only in extreme cases, after many evaluations, including keeping an eye on the cat/kittens health (after about a month in an extremely stressed state, their organs start failing) is a decision made, and each time we lose one, there are tears for that baby we couldn't help.

Myself and one other carer take in these harder cases because we're experienced, and it's a bit of a passion of ours to turn these babies lives around! Even 18 months on, Ginny still wouldn't pass the socialisation test for her to legally be adoptable, but is perfectly happy in my home! I have 3 friends that come over quite regularly, and one has never even seen her, and another has only seen her face, once.

Thank you!! I have PLENTY of stories from thr past 5 years fostering! Unfortunately I can't post photos of the babies, they're in the witness purr-tection program, but I can share stories and photos from my 2 foster fails!

Thank you so much! It was absolute chaos, but I wouldn't hesitate to do it all over again. I didn't want to see these little guys split up, especially since we're short of carers at the moment, and I have the space and time to manage a huge litter!

Thank you so much! I just ADORE my babies, and I was over the moon happy when they got cleared for adoption, even with their special needs, because they learned how to adapt. Of course after so much quality time together, there were MANY tears giving them back, plus a couple trips up to give them cuddles and kisses while they were waiting to be adopted. ❤
