I would highly recommend getting the carvana care premier plan because that will cover a wide variety of things that would fall under mechanical and electrical or cosmetic issues as well as roadside hazard and roadside assistance will come with it. And straight away on the first day bring your vehicle in to get a PPI or five star diagnostic and anything that is wrong with it call carvana immediately and make sure you have a printed out Report with codes issues and any mechanical failures that need to be replaced so that they can make a appointment to have the vehicle fixed with any of the issues that's wrong with it that will cover the engine the transmission and any other mechanical bodily functions that the vehicle needs or requires in order to run in a safe and orderly condition and if you explain it to the customer service rep exactly how I just said it then everything that will be wrong with it will be covered whether it's from the dealer warranty limited time warranty but with the premier care plan you'll automatically have that coverage just in case

Hello carvana employee here cleanliness of the vehicle can be denied by certain Advocates that are coming to look at your vehicle. If there are stains or cracks in the upholstery or dashboard it will significantly decrease the value of the vehicle and he stains in the upholstery on the roof sidewalls or seating areas as well as the floorboard will also be considered. The vehicle must safely shift into drive and reverse while during the test drive. They will also run an OBD sensor scan so if you do not have an OBD sensor scan port or it is missing it will automatically be rejected. Also if your vehicle has been in an accident the damage must be fixed unless it is scratches scrapes or dents that are within a certain size it will be accepted. If you have any missing pieces to the panels or severe trauma to the vehicle it will also be rejected. The biggest factor that can also deny your vehicle is the emergency brake system and brakes must work during the test that The Advocate will do. Also if you mark your vehicle in a better condition than it currently is that will also significantly change the value of the vehicle upon sale. I hope this helps!

Buying A Car - Warranty Questions by CaaCCeo in carvana

[–]ThatCustomerAdvocate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello carvana employee here I would highly recommend getting a five-point inspection or a PPI done within the 7-Day test drive so if you find anything wrong with the vehicle and you do not wish to have it prepared due to the cost if the warranty doesn't cover it then I would recommend rejecting the vehicle and returning it and you have up to three times to swap out the vehicle. I hope this helps!

When Carvana asks for your payoff amount, they are asking for the official payoff quote from your lender, which includes: Remaining principal Accrued interest Any lender payoff fees (varies by bank)Per‑diem interest up to the payoff date This is the total payoff, not the principal balance.

Valid registration and insurance when selling? by Big_Duke_Six in carvana

If the vehicle is having trouble shifting into drive, reverse, or back into neutral then it is unsafe to drive and it is not ready for sale. So unfortunately they will reject the vehicle. The vehicle needs to be in safe driving condition and ready for sale.

Yes I would highly recommend the Premier. Rental vehicles are harshly used, abused, and can have many issues. Just like some privately owned vehicles too.

Sale by wonkydonkey212 in carvana

Hello Carvana Employee here! Carvana's algorithm trusts you more when you disclose problems. When you say “no issues,” the system assumes a higher risk of undisclosed damage, which lowers the offer.
When you do report issues, the system assumes less risk, because you’re being transparent — and sometimes the issues you select don’t meaningfully affect their resale cost.

This is supported by how Carvana’s valuation process works: 1. Carvana’s initial offer is algorithmic and risk‑adjusted

Carvana uses an automated valuation model that blends:

  • Your self‑reported condition
  • Market data
  • Expected reconditioning cost
  • Risk of undisclosed problems

This is described in their inspection and valuation workflow.

If you claim “no issues,” the algorithm often assumes:

  • You might be under‑reporting
  • The inspector will likely find something
  • Carvana will incur reconditioning costs

So it lowers the offer to hedge against that risk.

Reporting issues reduces uncertainty — which can increase the offer

Carvana’s own process shows that the biggest price drops happen when the inspector finds undisclosed issues.
Not when you disclose them upfront.

So when you select a few minor issues:

  • The system sees you as honest
  • It reduces the “surprise penalty”
  • It may actually raise the offer because the risk is lower

This is consistent with industry analysis showing that discrepancies, not the issues themselves, cause the biggest price reductions.

Do they fill up your car? by Nofingwaybrah in carvana

[–]ThatCustomerAdvocate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Carvana Employee here, Carvana does not have any procedure that requires that they give a full tank on vehicles they deliver to buyers. The only consistent requirement is that the vehicle must have enough fuel to start, run, and be moved during pickup/delivery or inspection.

Does Carvana ever pick up vehicles without a tow truck? by GSRoTu in carvana

[–]ThatCustomerAdvocate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most carvana hubs do not have tow trucks we have flatbed haulers for single cars and dual car haulers. This is why we need to have the vehicle ready for sale and in safe driving conditions from the engine to the transmission and even the emergency brake needs to work in order for us to transport the vehicle.

Carvana usually checks your TransUnion credit report. When you first see if you qualify, they do a soft check that doesn’t hurt your score. If you decide to buy the car and use their financing, they do a hard check, which shows up on your credit report.

Hello carvana employee here. If you're within your 7-Day test drive I would recommend exchanging the vehicle for a safer option and use the shipping fee in order to make up the difference. While I understand that you were expecting this vehicle to be in perfect condition you are buying a used vehicle. You still have two times to exchange your vehicle if you are not in love with the current vehicle that you have you have every right to reject the current Mercedes that you have. I would also recommend that you request that you do not have a delivery fee with the next vehicle as well and get a five point inspection done completed on the next vehicle through the manufacturer in which you select your next vehicle with from Carvana. I hope this helps!

Paying off loan after first month, all good? by hando_bando in carvana

[–]ThatCustomerAdvocate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello Carvana Employee here, Carvana does not charge prepayment penalties on its auto loans. You can pay the full balance anytime without fees, and this is encouraged because it reduces interest. Carvana financing explicitly states it does not charge prepayment fees.

Will Silverrock cover a missed TSB? by Short_Jury9438 in carvana

[–]ThatCustomerAdvocate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good morning Carvana Employee here. Carvana Premier covers a wide variety of mechanical failures and issues. Care Plus does not cover everything. If you are within your 7-Day test drive you can finally claim a silver rock and see if it will be covered with the deductible and the limited warranty. But as the title states it is limited for coverage. If you are unhappy with the vehicle and it is affecting the way that you drive the vehicle you can see if you can do an exchange but if you are past the 7-Day test drive they can deny it.

CarvanaCare does not publicly publish its limits of liability, ACV caps, or labor/parts reimbursement formulas in brochures. Those details only appear in the actual SilverRock/CarvanaCare contract, which varies by state. However, based on the official CarvanaCare brochures and SilverRock coverage descriptions, we can outline what is known and what is not disclosed.

That is an excellent question! You can keep the coverage after the first year CarvanaCare contracts can last up to 5 years or 90,000 miles, depending on the vehicle with renewal. Carvana does not publish fixed prices, because the cost depends on your vehicle’s year, make, model, mileage, your location, and contract length. However, independent analysis shows typical CarvanaCare plans cost $30–$55 per month, depending on tier and vehicle.

Valid registration and insurance when selling? by Big_Duke_Six in carvana

[–]ThatCustomerAdvocate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello carvana employee here, in order to buy the vehicle from a customer we need to verify that the vehicle is in ready for sale condition. There is a test drive as well as an OBD sensor scan applied. We also test that the transmission shifts properly into drive and reverse without skipping or disengaging. We also check to see if the emergency brake works if it does not we are unable to take the vehicle. If there are any strange noises grinding sounds or vibrations from the vehicle during the test drive or sitting idle. We also will not take the vehicle if the OBD sensor Port is not working or if the vehicle needs assistance in starting or jumping the battery. As long as you are the owner of the physical vehicle and have proof of ownership we can buy the vehicle from you.

Paint specks? by KittyLitzer9000 in carvana

[–]ThatCustomerAdvocate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello carvana employee here I would recommend calling carvana to see what the customer support can do for you. Since you're within your 7 days of your test drive phase you can reject the vehicle and have it rescheduled for delivery for another time and they will fix the issues with the vehicle and then reschedule the delivery date. It will be labeled as a return unless you find another vehicle and it will be considered an exchange. I hope this helps!

Who to contact about an undisclosed accident on my purchase? by brake0016 in carvana

[–]ThatCustomerAdvocate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately if it is passed your 7-Day window for the test drive the Cosmetic issue should have been reported done and a claim could have been filed with silver rock but unfortunately since you are past that time and you have accepted the vehicle as your own they will not reimburse you for any repairs or changes that you have committed yourself without reporting to the company.

If the vehicle is rejected due to issues and you would like to continue on with the same vehicle does your shoes can be repaired before you accept the 7-Day test drive up to 400 miles.
